Description

Powered by eCommercePlayer.com     This is a ten inch acetate on the Presto Records label by Lalo Guerrero entitled Pound Dog / Sancho Claus. The 78 RPM acetate record plays with excellent fidelity, shows full gloss, with a mostly clean playing surface. Please see the scans, and listen to the full sound file.
This record came from the collection of Jim Ameche, a popular disc jockey on KLAC radio in Los Angeles during the 1950's. It is a Latino novelty satire on the big hit by Elvis Presley, that was originally recorded by Big Mama Thornton. It was released on L&M records, and is considered a rare and desirable 45 record ( The 45 has sold for as high as $170 on popsike.) This may be one of the few 78 acetates of this rare bit of obscurity. Bids away !

There is a complete audio stream of at least one side of each record on the listing page. Occasionally the audio stream "times out" overseas, limiting the sound, to a brief "clip". If this happens, please email or message me, and I will try to make a correction. Here is my grading system:

NM- = record appears mostly new and uplayed

VG++ = record looks great, may be a few light paper scuffs, plays like new.

VG+ = fairly nice copy, may be a few light marks, occasional tick or pop, but mostly clean sound.

VG = wear, scuffing, light scratches, ticks and pops, but a very playable copy.

VG- many scuffs or groove wear, plays with some noise, but still listenable.

G+ = a playable copy but very very worn, plays with lots of noise

    G through G- = wall hanger
