LAMBCHOP How I Quit Smoking 2x LP *RARE* OOP Merge 1996

Up for bid is a rare double vinyl copy of How I Quit Smoking, by Lambchop. It was released on Merge Records in 1996.

This is actually a three-sided LP. There is no music on side 4, but there is an etching in the vinyl (some of which you can make out in the photo below).

The LPs are in VG+ condition with a little bit of surface noise. The gatefold cover is in fine M- condition.

No reserve!

From the TrouserPress review:

The band pumps down the volume even further on How I Quit Smoking, a collection of songs that spiral in on themselves with agoraphobic insularity. Propelled by Wagner's soft croon and underscored by the sublime restraint of the musicians, "The Man Who Loved Beer" allows its underpinning tragedy to seep through the edges, while "All Smiles and Mariachi" luxuriates in blue-collar alienation. Evidence of Wagner's unique songwriting gift are nowhere more apparent than on "Theone," which manages to refer Gomer Pyle but still be the sort of affecting love song other artists would kill for.

I prefer payment via PayPal but I will accept Money Orders, Cashier Checks and Personal Checks for U.S. orders or in U.S. Dollars ONLY. It's not that I don't want your delicious, delicious Euros, it's just that I'm not set up to process payments in foreign currencies.

Please allow up to an additional two weeks for personal checks to clear.

Vinyl is carefully packed with bubble wrap and shipped in a sturdy custom cardboard LP box. Insurance is not required but it is highly recommended. I can't be liable for uninsured shipments. Some people like the record removed from the sleeve for shipping to prevent seam splits. I'm more than happy to do that. Just let me know.

Packages will generally be mailed within one business day of payment (add two weeks for personal checks). Shipping costs include shipping materials. I'm not out to rip anyone off on exorbitant shipping charges. All shipping charges are calculated based on the actual weight of the item plus the box. For LPs and 10"s I add $1.50 for the cost of the custom LP box, bubble wrap, etc. For 7"s I add $1.00.

Actual insurance costs may vary according to the winning bid amount.

Shipping Time Estimates from the US Postal Service
(remember, these are estimates, not guarantees)

  • Media Mail - 2 to 9 Days
  • Priority Mail - 2 to 3 Days
  • First Class Mail International - Varies by Destination
  • Priority Mail International - 6 to 10 Business Days

Prompt payment upon auction end is greatly appreciated! Please try to ante up with 7 days, or at least drop me a line and let me know there will be a delay. I've got no problem with that, and I will be more than happy to hold on to a purchase if you're bidding on something else I've got for sale and you want to combine shipping. Within reason.

Returns are handled on a per-case basis, and I'm a pretty reasonable guy. Please contact me if you are not satisfied with your purchase. Returns for uninsured items damaged during shipping can not be accepted, so please remember to buy insurance.

All vinyl is play graded and is scored according to GoldmineTM standards. I work on the assumption that there is no such thing as a MINT LP that has been opened and played, so M- is as good as it gets. All records come in a protective plastic sleeve.

**The item pictured is the item you will get, guaranteed. No substitutes; no bait & switch -- ever!**

I'm not a record store, I'm just a luddite trying to move into the digital age and reclaim some space in my living room. I stand by my product descriptions and, while judging the quality and condition of LPs can be a subjective endeavor, I do my absolute best to deliver records that are in the condition described.

For a taste of what records I will be putting up for auction in the near future, please visit my ebay "About Me" page.

Questions or comments can be emailed to iamdamosuzuki@yahoo.com. I check my email often and will get back to you pretty darn quick unless I'm out of town or I've fallen and I can't get up.
