Description

For auction is LANGSTON HUGHES' "The Weary Blues," on MGM E3697, MONO, DG, 1958. With Charles Mingus, Milt Hinton, Sam Taylor, others.

SOUND: VG+/NM

It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall very clean and clear. Only intermittent soft surface noise, nothing to worry about.

VINYL: VG+/NM

There are a few faint scuffs, appearing superficial. Overall looks clean and in very good condition. Deep-grooved labels are very nice. Side A label has a "promo" stamp.

JACKET: NM

The jacket is great, with solid edges and spine in excellent condition. Corners too, are in great shape. Both front and back are clean, with very minimal wear or aging. There is a "promo" stamp on the back.

The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.

A rare original issue, especially in this condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $20.

Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.

Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.

If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material.  Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
