I'm offering the Larry Norman album "Upon This Rock" released in 1969 by Capitol Records. Christian rock music. In stereo. #ST-446. In its original sealed jacket and sleeve. I've owned this since it came out and have never played it and now it's time for me to thin out my collection. This has been stored upright in my album rack in my home. I worked in the entertainment business here in Hollywood and got a lot of records for free. Sometimes duplicates. It's in mint condition. The sealed jacket is in mint condition. Combine auctions and save on shipping. Larry David Norman (April 8, 1947 – February 24, 2008) was an American musician, singer, songwriter, record label owner, and record producer. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of Christian rock music, and released more than 100 albums. In 1969, Capitol Records released Norman's first solo album, "Upon This Rock," produced by Hal Yoergler, which is now considered to be "the first full-blown Christian rock album". In May 1970 Capitol released a single with both songs from "Upon This Rock": "Sweet Sweet Song Of Salvation" backed with "Walking Backwards Down The Stairs." Norman was denounced by various television evangelists for mixing rock music with religion, and Capitol deemed the album a commercial flop and dropped Norman from the label. However, his music gained a large following in the emerging countercultural movements.
