Original 10" from the world famous sculptures of Jacques Lasry, Bernard and Francois Baschet, released in the early 60's(around 1963) in France on the BAM label. Their self-built sculptures included metallic sheets, plastic balls filled with air, metallic tubes, the great cristals, etc. Features the pieces : "Pieces nouvelles", "Marche", "Sonatine", "Suite", "Valse", "Spontaneite"!! The Baschet Structures Sonores have been used in compositions by Andres Lewin-Richter, Ravi Shankar, Toru Takemitsu, and Jacques, Yvonne, and Teddy Lasry; they compare to the sound sculpture and homemade instrument work of Max Neuhaus, Harry Partch, Z'ev, Donald Knaack, Harry Bertoia, Alvin Lucier, Paul Panhuysen, Bill Fontana, etc. Jacques Lasry also released an LP on the legendary Patchwork French library label.
Condition
Many of these pressings have sound distortions due to the pressing-I listen to all the records I sell. Visually this is very clean copy just with two very thin and tiny ‘ridge’ marks on either side. These don’t do anything.
I did try to load a FULL soundclip but it’s not possible so I have had to cut it. The bits I cut are clear but as you listen there is sound distortion at the begining and later on for about 2 minutes but overall it’s great. This distortion is within the pressing as it only occurs during the music but it doesn’t interfere
too much with the playing
This is the first issue on the red and white BAM label not the later black and silver pressing.
The cover is fine with a little creasing-on the corners of the Lp- plus some ringwear-more on the back than anywhere. Strangely my new camera seems to have smoothed these out.
