Original 1979 Soviet stereo release on Melodiya (USSR) (catalog # C60-11303/11304, white labels).

Impossible to find Latvian/Soviet psych/prog monster including the cosmic psych epic "Seven Sad Stars" and many more cool tracks. The band is MENUETS aka MENUET, lead by Janis Blums. The music is by Imants Kalnins with words by Maris Caklais.

As the blog "sovietgroove" says: "Latvian psychedelic... I'm seeing, people googles for rare psychedelia. Here it is... Things absolutely impossible in Moscow could still happen in (soviet) Latvia."

Liner notes (in Latvian, Russian and English) talk about how these songs, first performed in 1972, are "seemingly simple and free-wheeling yet bestrewn with minute ornamental adornments like tiny stumbling-blocks properly modulated."

CONDITION: Cover VG+ / Vinyl MINT-   excellent shape, cover would be close to new but back has a lot of discoloration (it looks like the gold color of the front cover has bled all over the back); vinyl is very near absolutely pristine, flawless, beautiful shiny luster, no wear at all.
