Description
From one of the pioneers of early rock 'n roll and R&B, it's the always potent and underrated LAVERNE BAKER, with this fantastic EP including the 45 RPM, titled : LAVERNE BAKER, with the 4 tracks: JIM DANDY / STILL - b/w - PLAY IT FAIR / TRA LA LA. This EP is on ATLANTIC RECORDS #588, black with silver label. The picture sleeve for the EP is in Excellent or better condition - no handwriting, no ringwear, no record indention, no rips, no tears, no sleam splits other than a minute section at the opening on the lower edge and slight spine split seam, with usual agewear with a slight fry at the spine corner, and with normal and small agewear discoloring mark on back EP cover. The VINYL is in Mint Condition - bright, shiney, clean, no scratches - as far as I know, it has not been played. The EP cover paper on the edges is a bit fragile from years of storage and some temperature change - I am sending the record outside the sleeve because as fragile as it is, it is also very strong, especiall along the bottom and the opening area to insert the record is tight as is the entire EP cover, but as I mentioned, a bit fragile, and I don't want to disrupt the condition any more than possible - I got the EP from a Record Store over 35 years ago from their 'everything must go' bin, and I have stored it from that time. The record itself has not been played by me and looks beautiful. The black & silver LABEL is in Mint Condition - incredible for the age of this amazing EP. It's startling to hold in your hands, a jewel of an EP. The back has the credits for the songs as well as a list of Atlantic EP's up to the release of this wonder. This is one of those kinds of records that in the day was brought to parties, and played played played, and it's hard to find any that exist that have not been roughed up. This is one that escaped the wild teenage party devastation, and now available for your collection. This EP would look stupendous framed like a poster - flyer - or handbill, framed with the single in a presentation frame, or of course, to house the tracks and displayed on your record shelf.
I will be listing many Picture Sleeves and EP's in the next few days > Otis Williams & His Charms, Clyde McPhatter on black Atlantic, The Teenagers on red Gee, The 5 Satins on Ember, Hank Ballard And The Midnighters, Jimi Hendrix picture sleeve, Billy Ward & His Dominoes, Elvis Presley EP's and Picture Sleeves, Joe Turner EP, Bo Diddley, The Drifters, Huey Piano Smith & His Clowns, Ricky Nelson, Kathy Young & The Innocents picture sleeve & single, Nathaniel Mayer picture sleeve, Bill Haley And His Comets EP, The Philles Christmas EP, Coleman Hawkins EP, and many more EP's, Picture Sleeves, and singles.

These are hard to find items, and I like to ship US Postal Priority as I've found there's much less chance for loss or damage to the item, but I am happy to send it whichever way you wish. International is mailed via Air Letter Post, packed sturdily for the trip. I mail once a week, usually on Thursdays. I am not a brick and mortar store - I am a private collector that is dispersing part of my collection to new homes.
MULTIPLE PURCHASES AND SHIPPING: You may want to bid on more than one record to EXTENSIVELY save on shipping - the 1st 7" record AND second 7" record is the normal one regular shipping fee ( the 2nd is shipped free in the package with the first record), and thereafter, each 7" record is 50 cents each in the US / $1.00 for albums/12" singles.
International, shipped Air Letter Post, the first two 7" singles are the same one shipping fee, and the others up to 5 records for 50 cents for each 7" single and $1.00 for each album / 12" record - if 5 or more, than it's Parcel Air Post charge plus 50 cents or $1.00 depending on size of the record. If you have ordered a 12" and a 7", the 12" size shipping fee applies. A lengthy explanation yes, but saves you lots of money.
