Description
NEGRO SINFUL SONGS sung by LEADBELLY
This is a 78 rpm record album containing 5 records. It was produced by the Musicraft Corporation, and is album #31, date unknown. I have played many of the records, and the sound quality varies widely, with some having a much higher degre of distortion than others, but all having some, since they are reproductions of original recordings that were probably quite poor to begin with. But the value is that the album is fully intact with all five records, and that they are all in fairly nice condition overall, with no chips, cracks or major scratches. The album jacket itself, which depicts some sharecroppers on the front cover, is somewhat dirty, particularly the back cover and the insides of the covers, and the back cover also has a bit of a bend in it. There is some wear around the corners, but the book-type spine is in very good condition, with minimal wear.
Here are the records that are contained in the album:
223-A Frankie and Albert (Part 1)
223-B Looky, looky, Yonder Black Betty/Yellow Woman's Door Bells
224-A Frankie and Albert (Part 2)
224-B Ain't Goin Down to the Well No Mo'/Go Down Old Hannah
225-A Poor Howard/Green Corn
225-B Fannin Street
226-A The Boll Weevil
226-B De Kalb Blues
227-A The Gallis Pole
227-B The Bourgeois Blues
This is a treasury of early blues/folk music by one of the early masters - don't pass it by!
The discs will be shipped with plenty of packaging material due to the fragile nature of the discs, including bubble wrap, and heavy duty cardboard sandwiching both sides of the discs. For this reason also, it is recommended that it be shipped via Priority Mail, although Media Mail will also be listed as an option.
THANKS FOR LOOKING, AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING. CHECK OUT MY OTHER DEALS!
GRADING: primarily grade my records visually, based on the Goldmine rating system of Mint, Near Mint, Very Good Plus, Very Good, Good, and Poor. Questionable marks and scratches are usually tested on a turntable and noted in the listing. I try to err on the conservative side in my grading; but since it is not an exact science, there are bound to be differing opinions as to what constitutes a certain grade. Suffice it to say that I strive to be as honest as possible in my listings, as I plan on selling records, etc. for the long haul and I am not interested in ripping anyone off. That being said, I would add that the time for questions is DURING the auction, not after. I will be happy to respond to any email as soon as possible.
SHIPPING: MULTIPLE PURCHASES WILL RECEIVE SHIPPING DISCOUNT! Please make note of normal shipping time frames for delivery, and refrain from contacting seller during this period. BUYERS PLEASE NOTE THAT SHIPPING COSTS REFLECT MY COSTS OF USING THE APPROPRIATE PACKAGING TO KEEP YOUR RECORDS SAFE AND SOUND.
