Leaves are one of the few cases where a particular band is so completely identified with the birth of a genre or subcategory. For all purposes and intents, their first album ("Hey Joe", 1966) is the album which started the whole "Garage-Rock" hoopla. Not to mention the fact that the title track of their first album has been covered by The Byrds…Love…one Jimi Hendrix…Deep Purple, etc, etc,etc…This, their second, and final - work is equally rare as their first, if not more so. On this one, the elements of psychedelia prevail over crude garage aesthethics. Available on compact disc only briefly, on a one-way and out of print since the beginning of time, this may be your best chance to grab this classic bit of garage psychedelia. Miss it now, and regret later.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted below, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the normal room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            WE GRADE THE RECORD AS EXCELLENT. This is one of those albums that are somewhat difficult to grade. It is somewhere between VG++ and NEAR MINT, just a notch below NEAR MINT. A few light abrasions ARE visible, but they are extremely shallow, superficial and only moderately visually distracting (nothing significant).For the most part, the vinyl looks impeccable without any MAJOR visual flaws or imperfections. Much of the original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record has a few "dots" on the surface which are a visible, but probably not audible, and which are only localized in section of the vinyl. These "dots" are usually a result of either (a) exertion of pressure on the records THROUGH the cover or record being too tightly packed or (b) low-quality paper inner sleeve which lightly irritated portion of the record surface over time.

(c)             The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the very first pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, exceedingly vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from your compact disc!

(d)            PLEASE NOTE: This - of course - is an ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

(e)             Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its stereo counterpart. The mix is more natural, humane, "organic" and in some instances the mixes may be somewhat different than on the stereo version. We estimate that stereo copies of this album outnumber monos by a ratio of at least 10:1.

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD+++.

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has some ring wear (nothing significant)

-         Cover has some light "friction" dirt/dust spots, probably from rubbing against other record covers. While we did not want to tinker with the integrity of the cover, these spots can easily be cleaned by the buyer by using a mild cleaner or plain eraser.

-         Cover has a light "wrinkle"(crease) in one of the corners.

-         Cover has a tiny worn / frayed spot on the spine (practically invisible)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-         No split seams

-         No cut-out holes

-         No cut-out corners

-         No drill marks or indents

-         No stains

-         No writing

-         No yellowing from age

-         No mold or mildew spots

-         No stickers or labels

-         No water damage

-         No razor marks

-         No pressure marks, lines, streaks, or razor cuts.

-         No stamps

-         No warping

-         No glue traces or wax residue.

-         No bar codes

-         No RIAA stamps or stickers.

-         No peel-off marks
