Led Zeppelin 1 ! SD 8216
The first Album from one of the Greatest Bands in History!
Dead Wax reads:
ST-A-681461-A LWP AT RG W
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? Allow me to explian:
Label says the record was pressed by Presswell no later than 1973
ST = Stereo
A = Atlantic Records
68 = This is the year the Record Company received the masters and started working on the pressing (This album was actually released in the US while the band was on tour in Janurary 1969.)
1461 = Master Tape 1461 (Often refered to as the Best Master of this Album)
A = First Lacquer Cutting
LWP = Metal Parts Made by Longwear
AT = Mastered at Atlantic
So what do we know about this pressing?
It was a first pressing from the best master known! Condition is NM, Heck it still has Shrink Wrap 43 Years Later! This album plays GREAT!
