As this is a high value item please read the information about postage costs, insurance and import duties BEFORE placing a bid. Thank you.

I am happy to answer any questions, but please read the listing carefully before sending a question or placing a bid. I try to provide comprehensive details and information in every listing so the answers to most questions should be found below.

During five years of trading on ebay, I have received around 1300 positive feedbacks from over 900 individual customers, almost all from the sale of vinyl records.

I take great pride in ensuring that my records are always described accurately and fairly. All my items come with a money-back guarantee - if it's not as described, you can return it for a full refund.

I don't usually put reserves on my auctions, but this is such a great item that I feel it justifies it.

This is an absolutely beautiful example of the first pressing of Led Zeppelin's debut LP. It has the turquoise lettering on the front of the sleeve, Superhype credits on the labels and the uncorrected matrix numbers only associated with the very first pressings.

The rare turquoise sleeve looks truly magnificent and is, without doubt, the best example that I have ever seen.

Detailed description
Vinyl: The vinyl looks superb. It has retained its original high sheen and has clearly been very well cared for. Under bright light just a few, very fine hairlines were visible on either side.
Labels: Neither label has any damage, writing, stickers etc, just typical signs of handling and marking around the spindle hole.
Sleeve: The rare sleeve is really nice and clean with no damage, writing, splits, tears or stickers etc and just light signs of use. There are a few small laminate creases near the opening and around the edges and, as with almost every copy of this, there is slight laminate lift either side of the spine, but none of these issues are significant, and are mentioned purely for the sake of completeness. They do not detract at all from this lovely example, which is easily the best one I've ever seen.
Edge wear: top/opening/spine/bottom: none/minimal/none/none. There are NO cracks to the laminate around the edges or spine.
Corner wear: minimal
Inner sleeve: Original poly-lined inner
Other inserts: n/a

Detracting features not covered above - None. This is a real beauty.

Information about descriptions.
My records are always described accurately and fairly. I always do my best to point out any blemishes which might detract from the item and all photographs are of the actual item you will get.

Visually-graded vinyl: Unless stated in the listing, vinyl is visually graded. I play grade records where possible but I don't have time to play them all, so I usually restrict play grades to collectors' items and rare records. A visual grading will identify physical flaws (such as scratches) and will determine whether a record has been cared-for properly, but it will not detect noise or crackle caused by non-visible sources. A visual grading will provide an indication of how a record may play, but it is not a guarantee of the record's sound quality. Most of the records I sell are between thirty and fifty years old and so it is likely that there may be some background noise even if they look perfect.

Play-graded vinyl: I will always state in the listing if I have played a record prior to describing it. When I play a record I listen to it carefully through headphones, taking notes of any noise, clicks, distortion etc and play it all the way through (unless stated otherwise). I have two record decks and one is more sensitive than the other to any physical flaws on the record surface. Records are always played on the sensitive deck first and the notes for the audio performance are taken from that deck. If this play-through detects any jumps or sticks those sections of the disk will be re-played on the less-sensitive deck to see whether they happen on that too.

First pressings and originals: Many of the records I sell are first pressings and, if this is the case, I will usually identify them as such and may include the relevant matrix information etc in the description. However, sometimes I cannot be certain whether a record is a first pressing or not. In these instances I will often use the word 'original' to identify a pressing which I think might be a first pressing, but do not know for sure (but which is certainly NOT a recent pressing or audiophile release etc). If you specifically want a first pressing, and know how to identify it, please ask the relevant questions before you bid.

Feel free to ask any questions about the item (but please don’t leave it to the last minute as I may not get a chance to reply).

International Buyers – Please Note: Import duties for overseas orders
Please note that for overseas orders outside the EU I need to complete a customs declaration and must enter the value of the package on the declaration. Please consider what impact your own country's import duties may have on the total cost you will pay.

  • Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

  • Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

  • I do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - International government regulations prohibit such behaviour.

POSTAGE & PACKING

I care about the records I sell and believe that they need to be carefully and securely packaged to ensure that they survive their journey through the post. Vinyl is removed from the sleeve for posting and the contents will be protected with rigid cardboard stiffeners. All packages are labelled "Do not bend" and securely sealed with "FRAGILE" parcel tape.

I support the use of recycled materials and so some or all of the packaging you receive your records in may have been previously used or be made from old cardboard boxes. If you wish your item to be sent in entirely new packaging please let me know before paying for it. Thanks.

As this is a very high value item it will not be sent with any other items and does not qualify for my usual multiple-item postage discounts.

UK P&P costs

Please ignore the £4.00 shown at the top of the listing. This item will only be sent fully insured using Royal Mail Special Delivery. The total cost of this will be £10.25.

Airmail costs to any country OUTSIDE the UK

This item can be sent internationally FULLY insured but the cost for this will be up to £160 depending on the winning bidder's location and the final auction price. The invoice will include the cost for a fully insured service and the winning bidder will need to notify me if they do NOT wish to use this service.

Most Royal Mail international tracked services insure items only up to £500. The prices quoted below include insurance only up to a value of £500.

If the winning bidder chooses to send the item insured for only £500 it is at their own risk.   I will, of course, provide all tracking information to the winning bidder for peace of mind.

Please contact me to discuss this BEFORE bidding if you have any questions. Thank you.
