I have very sadly decided to sell the remainder of my own record collection over the next few weeks. It is varied in its content from 60/70's Folk/Rock, incl rare Zeppelin and Floyd 1st presses, some Beatles and Dylan,including Japanese presses, various now deleted Audiophile pressings and female vocal. Some records I have owned since new, others I have carefully selected and picked up along the way. I have always tried to collect the best and earliest copies.

I will keep descriptions as simple as possible rather than do elaborate advertisements.

Whilst I have owned the records they have only ever been played on either a Michell Orbe or SME Model 20 turntable, both fitted with SME V tonearms and quality cartridges such as the Lyra Delos. My last phono stage was the Reference Whest PS 30RDT SE coupled to Vitus amplification and Sonus Faber Cremona M speakers. Not only has this been a revealing system, giving me an accurate assessment of all records played on it, but it has, I hope, always looked after the vinyl.

I clean all my records on an Okki Nokki RCM before putting them in new Nagaoka anti-static record sleeves and plastic outer sleeves. They have always been very carefully stored in a smoke free enviroment.

I will grade using the Record Collector system, erring on the side of caution as I have sold the SME. I am also selling the phono stage and cartrige. I am happy to discuss details with any buyers.

EXTREMELY RARE Japanese 1st Press MT 1091

Complete with OBI and Lyric Sheet 

 This is a chance to own an extremely rare Japanese 1st Press edition of this album.

I have personally never seen another come up for auction. The overall condition is spectacular. This was released in Dec 1969. There is currently one on another record site without the all important OBI for over £230! (I was told that in Japan, the OBI represents some 80% of the overall value). The OBI shows the original price of Y 1800 which confirms this as the earliest 1st press.

Outer Sleeve -  EX/NM.  Stunning, nearly 45 years old, and to find in this condition is very rare. If you were being absolutely critical, then there is a little very light shelf wear to the top edge in a couple of places and to the corners, but it is extremely minor for the age. The OBI is totally intact but has at the top, in a very small area a little minor damage but encircles the top cover perfectly.

Lyric Sheet - EX. Would be Mint but has some light age discolouration.

Labels -  N Mint. In bright light you can see a couple of very short light and very faint spindle traces indicating just how few times this has been actually played.

Vinyl visualy - Mint. Even in the brightest light I can see no evidence even of the very lightest marks that appear on vinyl simply from removing them from their sleeve. There is a tiny blemish on Side A at the end of track 3 and the beginning of track 4 which is in the vinyl and has been since pressing. It can be seen in bright light when held at the right angle only.

Vinyl play -   I will grade as Mint as this is as near to when it left the factory as I think is possible. However, the blemish in the vinyl mentioned above can be heard as a number of very light 'clicks' at the start of track 4. Otherwise, this is stunning. I have only ever played this twice and the previous Japanese owner told me he had had it since new and only played it a couple of times. I have an English 1st Press and in terms of audiophile quality this is so much better if every way. Even between tracks, it is so hard to hear ANY noise at all, the vinyl quality is that superb.

This is a real Led Zeppelin Collectors piece.
