ATLANTIC - 2401 002 - 1970 - UK 1ST PRESS A5/B5 MATRIX

1st UK press of this classic album on the red/plum Atlantic labels with earliest A5/B5 matrix, 'Do What Thou Wilt'/'So Mote It Be' run-out messages and Peter Grant Executive Producer credit. Cut by George 'Porky' Peckham, this is widely regarded as the best-sounding pressing you will hear of this legendary album.

CONDITION (vinyl/cover)

EX (lovely copy, barely-played - when closely studied under strong angled light the surfaces are shiny and clean and apart from a tiny scratch in 'Gallows Pole' there are just some of the usual faint sleeve removal marks; both labels are bright & clean and show hardly any sign of play; I listened to the album in full and can confirm it plays great throughout - there are about 6 rotational clicks in the loud section of 'Gallows Pole' from the above-mentioned scratch, otherwise the audio is superb NM with no surface noise that detracts from the music)

/ NEAR MINT (the fully laminated gatefold sleeve is in fantastic condition with a stiff solid shape, bright uncreased surfaces and sharp unworn edges - the turning wheel is fully attached and working perfectly - overall this is a near perfect example with any wear slight or hard to see - see photos)

Original company inner sleeve with datecode '0870' (i.e. August 1970) EX- (corner crease)
