Description
From my extensive Led Zeppelin collection I am pleased to offer an exceptional example of the brilliant debut studio album by LED ZEPPELIN simply titled “LED ZEPPELIN”, Catalogue Number 588 171. This is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK STEREO PRESSING on the PLUM & ORANGE ATLANTIC RECORD LABEL, with a superb fully-laminated MacNEILL PRESS LTD. sleeve. Complete with the correct white poly-lined inner sleeve. [The sleeve has the characteristic grey strip across the bottom edge. The matrix numbers are the corrected 58#8171 A//1, 588#171 B//1 and the record labels have Warner Bros credits].
The sleeve is in EX condition with barely any wear and only a few creases. The front and back covers are unmarked. There is just a touch of laminate lift adjacent to the spine. The spine is crimped at the ends. It is solid with perfect text.
The top quality Atlantic record is in EX+ condition. It’s a solid and inflexible pressing which sits flat on the turntable. It is clear that the record has not been played very many times. There is a single noticeable but superficial surface mark on the last track of Side One. This does not have any audio significance whatsoever (no clicks). Both sides are otherwise immaculate. The plum & orange Atlantic labels are unmarked with only a few short spindle traces near the centres. There is virtually no wear to the spindle hole. The sound quality of these original Atlantic pressings is truly outstanding - very powerful and vibrant with wonderful driving bass. Both sides play EX+ throughout. There is no discernable deterioration in sound quality and virtually no unwanted noise at all. I think that it will be very difficult to find another copy which plays to such a high standard.
The correct white poly-lined inner sleeve is in EX condition with just minor creasing and some age discoloration.
Overall this is a beautiful copy of Zeppelin's iconic debut album which will grace any record collection.
GRADINGS
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega P5 turntable fitted with an Elys 2 cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. My gradings are strict and in accordance with the following descriptions:
· MINT- Record is superb, almost like new, with just a few sleeve removal type surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve is near perfect in all respects.
· EX Record is a top quality example, with just a few very light surface marks which do not sound, and barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve has slight wear and/or creasing.
· VG Record has some visual surface marks, but still plays to a high standard without any major deterioration in sound quality – just a few clicks or light surface sound in places. Sleeve has normal wear and tear without any major defects but is still very presentable.
PACKAGING
LPs are packaged with care and well protected to ensure that they arrive safely in the same condition as they leave me. Records are removed from both inner and outer sleeves in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
