I am now selling off all my personal rare and collectible albums, 45's, cd's, books etc....

Mostly of Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Yardbirds, Cream, Eric Clapton etc.....A lot of them rare, collectible and very hard to find.....I will slowly be listing more records books etc....stay tuned!!

This auction is for a very very very rare test pressing of Led Zeppelin I. As you can see the label was type written, this was done for only a select few i can assume. The only ones i have ever seen have been printed, with a different address!!

 This indeed is the holy grail of my collection and could be for yours....

Take a look at the enlarged pics of the label, underneath the printed label, one can see the "test pressing" label. This is the rare of the rare....

This didn't come with a sleeve, just the album itself....This is much more rare than the white labeled album that came with the album sleeve.
 

  There are light marks on side 1 and side 2 is a little more rough with light marks and a couple of deeper marks. But still has that shine. Side one plays clean, side two has three skips on "I Can't Quit You". And one skip in the beginning on "How Many More Times". Some pops and crackles on those songs as well.

I can say that this is the best sound of the first album i have ever heard. They took great care in making this record sound the best it could be...I would imagine because it was probably one of the first samples of the record to be produced. And of course they used the best vinyl for this type of pressing. (not all vinyl was created equal!)

Take note of the address on the label:  

11 West 60th Street, N.Y. N.Y. 10023,

this is an address that's not on any of the Atlantic record albums that i have seen, they have an address on Broadway....It's certainly not on any of the mass produced Zeppelin albums released....I don't know the detailed history of Atlantic Records but i assume at this address is where they put the music on this vinyl back in 1969.

On this side there looks to be the number 3 also written in the wax but it's not prominent.
