HERE IS A BLURB ABOUT QUIEX SV-P EXCERPTED FROM AUDIONAUTES.

"AudioNautes introduces you to another great news from Classic Records.

The original words used by Classic Records to explain this new event follow:

In the fall of 2001, after years of listening to a variety of vinyl formulations, Classic Records introduced its proprietary vinyl formulation now known to all as QUIEX SV. We are grateful to report that QUIEX SV received critical acclaim among reviewers and consumers alike! A few months later at the CES trade show last January, Classic Records held a press conference to announce the Classic Blue Note Signature Series, which has excited the audiophile and collector's markets worldwide, at least in part, due to the authenticity that Classic Records committed to - inclusive of non-groove guard pressings. The first two Classic Blue Note signature releases - Miles Davis Vol.I & III on 10", demonstrated our commitment to authenticity and have been praised by even the most discriminating of rare jazz record dealers -including Ron Rambach of Music Matters (a consultant to Classic on the series). In preparing for the 12" LP portion of the Signature Series, Classic Records went to Record Technology (RTI) and asked for assistance in developing a non-groove guard 12" record with the same profile as the original Blue Note LP's from the mid 1950's. The process, spearheaded by Rick Hashimoto at RTI, has led us to a much more in-depth understanding of pressing records - including the development of new dies for the massive SMT presses. As a result, we are proud to announce our latest innovation - QUIEX SV-P.

Yes folks, in this corner, weighing in at 200 grams! Our new profile integrates our coveted QUIEX SV super vinyl formulation and a fatter, flatter profile that mirrors the original Blue Note record profile - complete with a deep groove in the center label. Big deal huh? After all, it's just a heavier record with no groove guard. NOT SO! To the surprise of almost everyone, the new profile sounds dramatically better than the standard audiophile 180 gram records pressed by RTI. In blind listening tests (adjusting the VTA for the difference in thickness), an audiophile focus group, correctly identified from and preferred the 200gram QUIEX SV-P pressing to a 180gram normal profile QUIEX SV pressing. The differences, in terms of increased clarity of instruments, harmonic integrity, and spatial detail are easy to hear even with untrained ears. Much like the difference in moving to QUIEX SV, the new heavier QUIEX SV-P pressings were unanimously preferred. As a result of our findings and continuing efforts to bring audiophiles the highest quality LP's, Classic Records will henceforth press all new releases exclusively on QUIEX SV-P. With an increasing number of regular non-audiophile LP's being pressed on 180gram vinyl, Classic remains committed to raising the bar sonically - we will leave no groove unspun properly! We are the heavy weight (vinyl) champions of the world! Join us in celebrating a small step forward for mankind and a giant leap forward for analog audiophiles! Classic Records QUIEX SV-P pioneering the future of sound by defying analog sonic boundaries!"
