Description
LED ZEPPELIN I 1st U.S. pressing featuring rare purple and brown labels and different and unique mix. Pressed at RCA Records Pressing Plant Indianapolis Indiana, matsered at Preswell with "PR" in the center labels. The mix on side one is totally unique from any issued in the U.S. or U.K., side two is slightly different with much altered space between some tracks.
Vinyl in VG/VG+ condition, the record is warped slightly which affects track 1 side 2 "Your Time Is Gonna Come", causes light "swoosh" on every rotation through 80% of track then ceases. The rest of the album plays VG+.
Cover in VG with edge wear (no splits, damage only to paper), creasing, staining on back cover (see photos).

Label variant: (Atco) purple/brown Stereo labels that were only produced on Atlantic releases when pressed at RCA Records Pressing plant, Indianapolis. Some say these issues are "club" issues but no proof on release. Others feel that these were created from stock Atco labels to fill the need. "Club" or press error, a very rare label.From bsnpubs: This label is rare and only appeared on a few titles from around 8130 to 8200. The Led Zeppelin album error commands premium prices, since not only is the label in error, but side 1 of the album is a different mix from the regular pressing.
Also side 2 does sound a little different from the standard issue. There is a long pause between "Black Mountain Side" and "Communication Breakdown", where the standard issue had no silence at all. And there is an unusually long silence between "Communication Breakdown" and "I Can't Quit You Baby", much longer than was on the standard issue.
The running time for B5, "How Many More Times" is listed on the back cover as 3:30, but actually plays 8:30.
For Variant 3, track B5, the song "How Many More Times" is banded in the vinyl to be two (2) tracks instead of one. Visually Side B appears to have 6 tracks but plays the standard 5. The second band of B5 is positioned at the beginning of the 'atmospheric' break in the song, at ~3:35.
