Description
Here for auction is a lovely example of the second studio album by LED ZEPPELIN simply titled LED ZEPPELIN II, Catalogue Number 588198.
This is a 1969 UK STEREO 1st PRESSING on the PLUM & ORANGE ATLANTIC RECORD LABEL with a 1st issue E. J. DAY MATT-FINISH GATEFOLD SLEEVE.
[The sleeve is earliest possible design which is very light brown in colour and has a blue/green tinted spine. The Side One record label credits The Lemon Song and the matrix numbers are the earliest Av2/Bv2].
The sleeve is in very good condition. There are a couple of small surface scuffs on the front cover and light storage wear to the edges, but overall its still a very presentable example.
The vinyl is also in very good condition. Its a very solid pressing with a thick square-cut rim edge. Both sides display only a few very light surface marks under bright light which are only superficial and do not cause any significant audio problems. The plum & orange Atlantic labels are unmarked. The record plays to a high standard with barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality and only a minimum of unwanted noise.
Overall its a very nice early 1st press A2/B2 copy with the ultra rare blue/green edged sleeve.
PACKAGING & POSTAGE
LPs are posted in purpose-made mailers with plenty of stiffening. Records are packed outside of the outer sleeve in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
