Description
Up for auction is an original LED ZEPPELIN II. This is the legendary Robert Ludwig master with the very narrow deadwax on side 2. (ST-A-691671PR) The PR at the end of the code indicates it was pressed at the Presswell plant. This is a very nice copy easily a VG+ with very little to no surface noise which for the very early pressings of this record is rare. It features the initials RL on both sides. A standard size RL on side one, and side 2 features the small RL with a very small SS close to the RL but not interlocking with it. I know it seems like a minute detail but there are several different RL mastered Led Zeppelin II pressings. It features the long fade on the song "Ramble On". On later pressings they shortened the fade at the end of the song "Ramble On". The record is Vg+. It is nice and shiney. (See Pics) It plays very quiet almost no surface noise. This record would be rated excellent but it has one small scratch and a few very light surface marks that do not affect the overall sound or playability at all. I have around 10 Zeppelin II R.L.'s and this is one of my best playing copies. I love this record. It absolutely jams. After you've heard a Zepp II R.L. your other records will never sound the same again :) They need to start an R.L. fan club. The cover is conservatively a VG or better. Its in really great shape especially for an original Zeppelin II cover. Check out the pics. No writing. No seam splits. The edges of the opening are nice and crisp not fuzzy and wore out from being opened a million times. The corners are a little worn. There is some general shelf wear along the edges and spine. The spine is a little worn but is in great shape. The edges of the spine have some shelf wear but it is structurally sound and very solid. The most shelf wear is on the very top edge and corner near the spine, there is about an inch or so of the brown color and a little paper that has been rubbed away but the damage is mostly just superficial. The inside of the gatefold is beautiful no damage retaining its nice original color. You wont be dissapointed. Comes with the original Atlantic inner paper sleeve but the sleeve is a little beat up. has a few little tears and a split seam but its still intact and functional. Its not dirty or stained up, still retaining most of its original colors.
Record will be shipped outside of the cover in a new plastic inner sleeve. Then cover and record will be placed in a plastic outer sleeve and mailed in a record mailer with cardboard pads/inserts to further protect the record. Record mailer is high quality. consists of 200lb test cardboard with a 32lb edge crush rating. I have been collecting records for years and totally understand how to safely ship records.
