Description

Up for auction is an original LED ZEPPELIN II.  This is the legendary Robert Ludwig master with the "wide" deadwax on side 2. (ST-A-691671CTH) with  ST-A-691671 1A in the deadwax. The 1A as well as RL and SS is on both sides. The CTH at the end of the code indicates it was pressed at the Columbia Records Terre Haute, IN pressing plant. The record is a very clean and beautiful playing copy easily a VG+ with very little to no surface noise which for the early pressings of this record is rare. It features the initials RL on both sides. A standard ("Skinny") size RL and SS on side one and side 2 features the standard size RL with an SS. I know it seems like a minute detail but there are several different RL mastered Led Zeppelin II pressings.
The record is Vg+ or better. It plays perfectly and very quiet almost no surface noise. This record would be rated excellent but it has some very light surface marks that do not affect the overall sound or playability at all. I have played this record several times and it absolutely jams. I have around 9 Zeppelin II R.L.'s and this is one of my best playing CTH pressings. After you've heard a Zepp II R.L. your other records will never sound the same again :) They need to start an R.L. fan club.    The cover is VG- (maybe better). Its in great shape for an original Zeppelin II cover but i want to try and grade conservatively as to not dissapoint. No writing. No seam splits. The corners and edges are a little worn. There is some general shelf wear along the edges and spine. The edges of the spine have  some shelf wear but it is structurally sound and very solid. The most shelf wear is on the very top edge and corner near the spine,  there is about an inch or so of the brown color and some paper that has been rubbed away. The opening edge of the gatefold has some significant edge wear.  The front of the cover in the top right hand corner is a small spot where the brown color has been rubbed off and there is a similar spot on the back at the bottom. All in all its little worn but Still a nice cover.     Comes with the original Atlantic inner paper sleeve but the sleeve is a little beat up. Has a few little tears and split seams and a couple creases but its still intact. Its not dirty or stained up to bad, still retaining much of its original color.
Record will be shipped outside of the cover in a new plastic inner sleeve. Then cover and record will be placed in a plastic outer sleeve and mailed in a record mailer with cardboard pads/inserts to further protect the record. Record mailer is high quality. consists of 200lb test cardboard with a 32lb edge crush rating. I have been collecting records for years and totally understand how to safely ship records. THanks for checking out my Auction.   Orders in the USA, Shipping is 4.00 usd. International shipping will be more. Sorry But I do not ship to Italy, France, Lithuania, Spain, Mexico or Greece.  I accept paypal only.
