ONE OF THE RAREST RECORDS IN THE WORLD; THE INFAMOUS ROBERT LUDWIG HOT MIX; LED ZEPPELIN II SD-8236; 1969
Original US pressing on Atlantic catalog # SD-8236. “RL” in the deadwax on both sides, “SS” on side two deadwax, Presswell pressing. Broadway labels. This is the infamous “Robert Ludwig” HOT mix. This is the ONLY way to hear this record. This mix is far more dynamic, has a huge stereo separation, and packs a punch! This record was recalled shortly after it was released. According to legend, Atlantic founder Ahmet Ertegun gave an “RL" mixed pressing to his brother to give to his daughter. Her record player couldn’t track the record; the needle jumped out of the grooves. The label received calls from customers with similar complaints. The mix was was too bass heavy and dynamic for low-end turntables of the time. The label withdrew thids record and released the much tamer mix commonly found today. Again, this is the only way to hear this record.

This is a good way to hear this record the only way it should be heard, without spending $700 and up for an EX-Near Mint pressing, assuming you can find one, not to mention you'll be one of the few collectors who can say they own this.
