GETTING HARDER and harder to find good condition original red/plum pressings of this hard rock masterpiece. Most copies are on the later orange and green labels and sound somewhat sonically inferior to the original pressings - these copies are brilliantly mastered with full range sonics especially the bottom end.
Naturally many Zep devotees point to this album as their favourite and there is good reason for that. Kicking off with 'Whole Lotta Love', the intention is to kick and punch the listener into submission. If any track sums up the core of Zeppelin then surely it must be this one. 'Killing Floor', 'Ramble On', 'Heartbreaker' and 'Livin' Lovin' Maid' takes the blueprint further by developing their trademark riffing whilst managing to squeeze in some brilliantly original accoustic tracks ('What Is And What Should Never Be') and the epic Bonzo showcase 'Moby Dick'.
Clearly this was a landmark albums that launched a whole new generation of hard rock bands none of whom ever really managed to top the creative content of this masterpiece.
Pressing: Atlantic, UK, 1969 - Red Plum Label
Vinyl: Beautiful clean condition. Displays a few spindle marks and when held under an extremely bright light, there are numerous light scuffs (microscopic) from sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. Spot playback reveals a beautiful full crisp sound reproduction. Grades as MINT-!
Cover: Again, only minimal signs of use to this well known gatefold cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no spit seams, no ring wear and no creases. Spine is straight and completely uncrushed. Displays a hint of staorage and handling wear - nothing horrendous. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 39 years after release. Grades as Ex

Often vinyl display 'scuffs' which are surface marks (mostly caused by sliding in and out of the inner sleeve or careless handling) but NOT scratches and they do not have any effect on playback. If the vinyl has a scuff I will try and mention it. Even my Vg+ records are way better than most gradings on ebay- check my feedback for vindication.Gradings are cover/vinyl. All records are sold as-is that means no refunds or returns except in very rare circumstances. I am not a lending libary so don't ask for a refund (I've been burn't in the past with people buying records, taping or CDRing and then returning them and I've also had scratched records returned in place of clean albums).
