Description
We are a group of high-end audio collectors known as Wax-Dinosaur. We are first and foremost collectors ourselves so we understand the great importance of accurate product listings, professional packing, and fast shipping. You can rest assured when you make a purchase of precious and rare items from Wax-Dinosaur that your purchase will be as described and will get to you quickly and safely.
Why buy from us?
1) We are conservative in our grading. We realize that many sellers on Ebay overgrade their records, tapes, and vacuum tubes. However we offer accurate grading.
2) We carefully and professionally pack and ship your items. We also include at no extra charge a clear poly record protector cover and remove the inner sleeve with the vinyl in it to prevent damage in transit.
3) We offer a money-back guarantee. If you are unhappy with your purchase return it for a full refund (minus return shipping).
You are looking at an authentic, original, and highly desirable vinyl Lp record album on quality vinyl at 33 1/3 rpm. You are looking at another great audiophile record. This auction seems to be loaded with them. This is Led Zeppelin II - the famed rare Robert Ludwig pressing. Here's the story behind this rare record: After Mr. Ludwig cut this record reports were that the stylii of the day couldn't track the massive bass cut into the grooves. Fearing losses of record sales Atlantic records immediately remastered it at a lower level. Ironically today these first RL (Robert Ludwig) pressings are the very best sounding versions ever made and now the styluses made today can easily and competently track the deep subterranean bass grooves cut into this record. It's a shame that Mr. Ludwig no longer cuts vinyl but his legacy is very clear. He cut some of the very best sounding rock records ever made. This record grades visually as beautiful VG+ and may improve with a good cleaning. It appears nicer than most RL copies we have ever seen. The jacket is in very good condition overall with some wear along the inner center crease. Does not have original inner sleeve (but we will provide a nice, new MFSL inner sleeve to better protect the record during shipping). Please do not miss out on this rare and great record!
We play graded this record and here is what we found:
Side 1:
Opens with Whole Lotta Love. Some very minor surface noise but like we said a much nicer copy than most we have heard. Pretty darned quiet. What Is and What Should Never be has some pretty quiet music and it plays beautifully. Tremendous bass during The Lemon Song by John Paul Jones - it's easy to see why this pressing goes for the big bucks - it sounds incredible! Thank you has the quietest music on the record and it is here where we can hear some surface noise but still plays easily at VG to VG+.
Side 2:
Very similar to the last copy we had for sale Side 2 plays quieter than Side 1. There is some minor surface noise heard between tracks but make no mistake this is a very enjoyable record as is. Heartbreaker opens with some minor surface noise and it is also heard during Page's solo but is not intrusive at all. Ramble on sounds wonderful on this copy! Bring It On Home plays pretty darned quietly. All in all you'd have a very hard time finding a nicer copy than this one! A beautiful and very rare Robert Ludwig Led Zeppelin II for your collection. It gives us great pleasure to be able to present rare and great records like this one for your collections so please do not miss out as records like this one don't come around very often, and when they do are usually beat to death!
Jacket has some wear to cover (see picture) but all seams are still intact but the binding is very worn.
