LED ZEPPELIN

"II"

(Atlantic SD-8236)

 

Rare first pressing with Robert Ludwig "hot" mixes. Columbia Terre Haute pressing with "RL" on side one and "LH" (Lee Hulko) on side two. Contrary to earlier beliefs, the LH side is the same hot master that is on double RL issues. 8 sides were mastered by Ludwig nearly identical on the same day. One RL/RL went to Presswell, one to Monarch, one to Terre Haute and a second LP also went to Terre Haute with RL/LH because Hulko assisted mastering on that side to Ludwigs's specifications. In fact, white label promos exist from the RL/LH master. This has all been documented by Mr. Ludwig himself.

So, that being said, the LP is about as clean a copy as you could hope for. I'm going to grade as VG++ because a few very slight sleeve rubs and the fact there is a name written on side one. Plays very clean and quietly.
