Both sides of this rare LP appear in stunning visual condition.  The quality vinyl used is thick and very glossy.  The album appears virtually unmarked and unworn.  There are a couple of extremely small, faint surface marks which are hardly noticeable and are not audible.  This record has been lightly played and well looked after and it would be extremely difficult to find a better looking copy with the rare misprint!

Both plum Atlantic labels are in great condition, there are some extremely light spindle marks on both labels but these are barely noticeable (see pictures).

PLAY-GRADING:

SIDE ONE: EXCELLENT-

I have play-graded this LP throughout on a PS-LX350H Sony deck equipped with an Ortofon cartridge at a lightweight 2g tone arm setting.  Both sides of this classic LP play incredibly well with outstanding sound quality (as expected from a Polydor pressing from this era) and without distortion.  There is some light crackle in the run-in grooves and a few light audible clicks in "Whole Lotta Love" but nothing to spoil the listening experience.  The track separations are very quiet with the occasional light crackle.

CONDITION OF SLEEVE: EXCELLENT

The original UK sleeve for Led Zeppelin II is notorious for being prone to wear due to the lack of lamination and the fact that it is quite dark.  This sleeve is in fantastic condition, covers for this LP rarely appear better than this.  The cover is of the unlaminated gatefold variety printed by E.J. Day and Co. Ltd.  There is very little wear but there is some light wear to some of the edges and corners which is barely noticeable.  There are some extremely light signs of ringwear to the rear of the sleeve and some very light creasing in places which are hardly noticeable.  The inner gatefold is in stunning condition and shows hardly any wear whatsoever.  There is a small mark to the front cover where a sticker has been removed (see picture).  The spine is intact and shows some wear but can still be read.  This is one of the best covers for this LP that I have come across for a while, it would be near impossible to find a better original UK sleeve for this rare LP.

This LP is essential for any Led Zeppelin fan or record collector.  It is quite hard to find decent plum label pressings of this LP and even harder to find those with the misprints as the price guides will verify.  This rarest UK LP version of Led Zeppelin II should please most collectors and is true investment material.  Please bid early to avoid disappointment.

Packaging Information:

This record will be sent in a high quality cardboard record mailing envelope, protected with two strong cardboard stiffeners to prevent unwanted bending during transportation. The record will be placed in a PVC outer sleeve and "sandwiched" between the cardboard stiffeners. The envelope will be sealed with strong brown tape. Please bid with confidence, I will always aim for the record to reach you in the same condition as it leaves me, especially since I have had disappointing experiences with records badly packaged that I have received.
