MEGARARE original ATLANTIC Records MONO very first press released in Chile in 1970, with red labels, catalog number SD-8236, with matrix numbers in Side 1: 2330.008.A EB-CD, and  2330.008.A EB-CD in Side 2. It’s curious that catalog number in cover is SD 8236, it means this release is licensed from Polydor Records but the label and cover don’t have any reference to the origin or the Chilean company which released the album. The cover was printed by IRT, but in 1970, all ATLANTIC albums were released by Philips Records, so it’s clear this album is unusual. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!!

“LED ZEPPELIN II” was originally released in 1969 but we didn’t have to wait much to see this great album released here, it was in 1970!!! And this very first press released in Chile had the same error of the first album (no, I don’t mean “Led Seppelin”), it has MONO sound!!! The cover is clearly STEREO, it’s written in front cover, but the label says MONO and the sound is MONO!!!  How many copies of this album with this error exist? We don’t know but it’s clear someone wasn’t doing the pressing so well. But, that’s good for collectors!!! This release has a flipcover with the front cover pasted on the flips. Front and back covers keep the same original artwork, with tracklist in back cover in English and with timing of the songs. In labels tracklist is in Spanish but translated to English and with no timing of the songs.

Yes, yes, yes… Here it’s a REAL FIND, another rare pressing of a famous album released in Chile, with an UNIQUE error!!! Record is supposedly Stereo but it's MONO!!! WOW!!! Obviously this error was corrected in second pressings.

The flipcover is in VG or VG+ condition, clean, no missing parts, no rips, a very minimal ring mark. Some past owner had the idea to use an inner sleeve inside the cover, to protect the fragile and thin cover and it has worked very well, all edges are complete with only normal wear for a record of 40 years. The record is in VG- or VG condition, glossy and clean but with loads of light hairlines and not so few light scratches, which don’t affect the sound. Labels on Side 1 is in NM or NM+ condition and on Side 2 is in VG+ or EX- condition, it has something like a very faint blemish, but both labels are clean and clear. The sound, however, is a nice surprise, it’s in VG or VG+, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some light crackles and clicks here and there, more evident in quieter parts and between tracks. Overall a great record with a not so good look but with a sound quality still nice after 40 years, no background sound, no skips, no sticks. This is a very nice copy of this rare pressing!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
