Description
RL “HOT MIX” (even though its a hot cutting and not a mix ;-)
RL SS on both side 1 and side 2. ONLY VISUALLY GRADED, NOT PLAY TESTED. Vinyl has a nice sheen to it, but I can see a bit of groove wear. A bit worried it’ll result in distortion, but regardless the record still retains a nice shine. Good or not, this mix is a powerful and loud cut.

PLAY TEST:
0 skips throughout side 1, as a matter of fact it sounds really good. However, as pictured and my worst fear: inner groove distortion is on this copy. It kicks in late on Whole Lotta Love, then to the rest of the album. Even with the distortion, this is a very enjoyable side. No overbearing pops or scratches to note of on side 1. Has “RL SS” instead of just “RL”.
Side 2 has the distortion from the start to end. The distortion sounds horrible in the first minute of Bring it On Home, but when the full band kicks in, 0 distortion to note. There is a scratch on Moby Dick that causes pops during playback. Otherwise, no other pop to note of.
Some surface noise in between songs, and on the 2 second breaks on “WIAWSEB”. Not bad though.
All in all, this would’ve been a perfect copy had it not been for the distortion, I would’ve kept it. However, if you can handle a pretty clean playback with groove wear, then by all means. Not too common for both sides to have RL SS, most presswell copies have RL/RL SS, pitman copies have RL/RL, and terre haute copies have RL SS/SS LH. Only Monarch copies are the other records to have RL SS on both sides as far as I know.
