LED ZEPPELIN
Title : Led Zeppelin III Label : Atlantic Cat No : 2401 002
Matrix : 2401002 A-5 Do What Thou Wilt / B-5 So Mote It Be
Issue : UK Original, 2nd Press, Plum Atlantic Press
This is a UK Original press of Led Zeppelin III. This press is complete with the earliest A5/B5 matrix and hand etched text Do What Thou Wilt / So Mote It Be and has the 'Under Licence' text above the white strip. The vinyl has the original polylined inner sleeve and this press has the German SD 7201 laminated, Atlantic Deluxe rotating wheel, gatefold sleeve. The German sleeve was commonly sold with UK original with the handetched text, but accompanies the slighly later 2nd press Peter Grant corrected labels.
The record is in Very Good condition. The vinyl has a superb gloss and the original jet black finish. The grooves show no sign of heavy wear, there are however a few very light marks on both sides. The labels are superb. The colours are vivid, the white is bright and the text is sharp. There is just the very slightest spindle wear. The vinyl is complete with the original polylined inner sleeve.
When played the vinyl is Excellent. The sound is rich, bold, warm and complete. Excellent audio separation and clear throughout. It isn’t silent, some light background noise can be heard in the quieter moments but this is not distracting, the album can be enjoyed from start to finish.
The German Atlantic Deluxe gatefold sleeve is in Very Good condition. The die-cut circles are unworn, the colours are vivid, the white is bright, although there is a little discolouration and the spinning wheel is perfect. The back has light ring wear and there is a little wear to the corners and the opening edge. The inside is superb and the spine is solid with clear text.
