Cover            MINT-

This cover really is superb, and as close to “shop bought” as you will find. No writing, sticker removal damage, indentations or other marks. Firm and crisp opening edge. Strong thick spine. The edges and corners are all super clean with barely any trace of rub, just a tiny bit on the bottom edge and bottom left corner, but this is hardly worth mentioning. All colours and inks remain in outstanding condition. No powdery white ringwear, no ring press, and a crisp opening edge. No tiny spider lines over the edge of the spine - amazing. Inside the gatefold is perfect and as new. It is hard to find anything of fault with this cover. Please examine the photos. I would be happy to send more on request. It would surely be impossible to find a better example. A guaranteed final upgrade.

Inner             EX

The thick card matte/grainy inner is also in great shape. No marks, no creases, and barely any evidence of handling. Just one small split (3 inches) in the middle of one side. Bottom left corner has “Made in Germany by WEA Musik GmbH”.

Labels          MINT-   

Green/orange Atlantic labels with the four symbols and Peter Grant credit. Clean, smooth and flat, rich colours, no marks or smudging of any kind, and no discernible spindle traces. Just the merest hint of mottling at top of side 2 (see photo) which I am sure was there in production.

Vinyl             MINT-   

The vinyl itself is in pristine near shop bought condition. Glossy and bright, no dulling anywhere, and it appears to have had one or two careful plays only. The merest hint of a couple of sleeve removal traces are just visible under a strong light, and that’s all. The LP has been fully and attentively play tested on a Project/Ortofon/NAD system with Bayerdynamic T90 headphones. It sounds awesome. I have read that the German pressings apparently have a superior sound quality – but I can’t claim to have made a scientific comparison! There are no scratches, skips, pops or jumps, and barely any discernible static even on the lead-in grooves. This is as close to a new LP as you will find, simply stunning audio.

I have included the maximum of 12 high quality photos, taken in good light with a decent camera and from a variety of angles, so you can properly judge the detailed condition of the cover, inner and labels for yourself. Any significant marks or defects on these aspects of the LP will be clearly visible in the photos.

I am not a record dealer, I am a 48-year old North London vinyl enthusiast re-creating my own 1970s-80s private collection from a wide range of sources, having foolishly sold all my original LPs at a university record fair in my twenties! POSTAGE & PACKAGING

The LP will be very securely packaged. It will be sent in a new polythene sleeve, together with two additional thick card inserts (one either side), all set inside a new dedicated record mailer envelope. The vinyl will be separated from the cover to prevent any ring marking in transit. The package will be secured with generous thick brown tape and marked with additional large “FRAGILE” taped stickers twice on both sides.

I make no charge for this packaging, and I make no profit on postage (the prices below are what I actually pay to send the LP – as you will see from the postage label if you buy from me).

I send all my LPs tracked & signed. This provides added security for both buyer & seller.

Note that most single LPs when packaged will weigh around 500g, possibly a little more. Double LPs & single LPs with gatefold sleeves will certainly weigh more than 500g.

RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE GRADING GUIDE

MINT: The record is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
