LED ZEPPELIN IV - ORIGINAL 1971 UK 1st PRESSING
Hello, my name is Dave and I am about to list almost all of my 30 year+ music collection. Most of it is rock based, but there will be a few bits of other stuff too. As you will see from my 100% feedback score, I deal fairly and honestly and try to make your buying experience as pleasant as possible. I do have a full time job and also enjoy a lot of time with my family. This means that on the odd occasion, I can take up to a week (maximum) to post a particular item - although about 90% will be sent within 2 days of payment. Okay, so on to what's on offer here:
As you will see from the pics, this is indeed a very fine example of arguably Led Zeppelin's greatest album IV. It is the original 1st pressing on the red and plum labels along with the A3 and B4 matrixes, the A3 being crossed out and corrected. The stampers are very early too: 12 20 on side 1, and 12 4 on side 2. Also "PORKY" and "PECKO DUCK" are etched into the dead wax, which means it was mastered by George Peckham. You will no doubt have seen quite a few copies of this exact same album reach well over a hundred pounds recently - such is the demand from collectors for this masterpiece on vinyl. Well I can tell you that this particular vinyl looks to be in great shape and should play beautifully. Still has a great glossy sheen and the labels are in good clean condition. It does have just a few light markings on both sides visible in normal daylight, and plenty of very fine hairlines which are only detectable when viewed under the strongest of halogen lights. There is just the one small scratch of any significance which looks like it would cause a few "pops" or "clicks". This is on the Misty Mountain Hop song on side 2 and is about 4 or 5 millimeteres. Apart from that, the rest of the vinyl as I have said is in Excellent condition and should play beautifully. I do not have a record deck, so all descriptions are visually based.
The original matt gatefold cover is in lovely condition with no tears, splits, writing or any serious wear at all - just the very minimal amount of shelf wear to the bottom edges - a deserving grade of EX at least. And finally the inner sleeve which is in great condition too. It's very flat and clean, but does have the normal splits that come with all these editions - a 1 inch split to the side, and a 2 inch split at the bottom. This is in much better condition than most that are sold here. So overall then, this is a great collectable in excellent condition all round. So let's get bidding !!
