 The  fourth Zep album and what a stunner it was!

First press matrices A//3 B//4 with the earliest stampers and "PORKY" and "PECKO DUCK" etched into the deadwax. This is the genuine FIRST PRESS with the correct A//3 B//4 matrices. The vinyl is ultra heavy at 149 gr. 

Label changes usually took place incrementally, with a necessary cross over period needed to bridge the change of the records and covers already in record shops, taking into account the most recent releases that were still selling.

The classic Plum label design was changed by Atlantic to a green & orange colour in March, 1972, when the second pressings of "4 Symbols" were made, with a new catalogue number, 'K 5008,' replacing the first issue's 'De Luxe 2401 012.'

 The heavy vinyl with high groovewalls provides a fantastic audio experience with channelling not equalled by the later CD version. I played this on my Technics turntable with a Linn cartridge and through my very revealing Rotel amp and B&W three way speakers!!! A beautiful CLASSIC with supreme songcraft, a joy to listen to!!!!

Vinyl: EX.  I'm very happy to be able to present this gem in this great condition. Only lightly played . The audio is simply sublime played on my Technics deck with Linn Sondek cartridge and through my rotel amp and B&W speakers.  This really heavy vinyl sounds out of this world, a majestic album that went largely unnoticed at the time.  Just one wispy hairline on  side 1, not feelable and no impact on the audio. There are some paper retraction traces only visible under a strong light but otherwise this vinyl is EX or very close to it. Great replay on my premium sound system without any skips or jumps.The labels still retain their beautiful original appearance.

This also has the original inner sleeve which is made of a vulnerable paper much like the good old blotting paper. Most of these have gone missing. This is still there, albeit with the usual seam splits and a tiny top tear. Totally intact. It has the lyric to "Stairway" printed. A lovely item and quite rare in its own right with many replaced by later re-issue copies which have normal smooth paper and are far lighter in colour.  I will send the vinyl in a separate plain inner. 

Gatefold Sleeve: EX.  INCREDIBLE! A fantastic looked after matt textured gatefold . The sleeve still retains its rich colours.  Light wear on the edges and spine which is still fully legible, the opening is crisp. Incredibly, this album is now 52 years old. It has the Kinney transitional sticker to the rear, making it a very rare copy of this sleeve which would soon be replaces by the newer sleeve with the second issue cat. number. The inside gatefold is EX. NO damage, NO tears, NO writing or stickers, a lovely example of this beautiful classic prog rock album!
