Matrix : 2401012 A3/B3 Issue : UK Complete 'Top' Label Mispress
This is the rare UK mispress of Led Zeppelin IV. This complete early press can be identified by the earliest A3/B3 matrix and the rare crossed out and then corrected matrix on Side 1. It has the original Pecko Duck and Porky handetched in the runout. It contains the rare label error 'Misty Mountain Top' instead of 'Misty Mountain Hop' and is pressed on the earliest heavy vinyl. As such the sound quality of these earlier presses is enormously superior to the flimsy later issues. This is one of the biggest multi-million selling albums of all time and yet only a few thousand presses exist with this exceptional original sound and unique 'Misty Mountain Top' label misprint. The record is complete with the 1st press only flipback printed inner sleeve and the lightweight matt gatefold sleeve.
The record in Very Good+ condition. The vinyl has the most sensational original gloss, there is no whitening or any wear at all to the grooves, just a few light marks and a few insignificant hairlines on each side. When played the sound is very bassy and rich and extremely clear. There is a little noise at the start of 'The Battle Of Evermore' otherwise it is bright and vibrant.
The mispress label is in Excellent Condition. The colours are as vivid as the day it was pressed and the white is extremely crisp. The black text is sharp and there is only the very slightest spindle wear.
The 1st press only flipback dark brown printed inner sleeve is in rare Excellent condition. This sleeve is very solid, there are just a couple of faint marks. There are NO SPLITS and the edges and corners are still very firm.
The matt gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition. The picture is still superb and the colours are still incredibly warm and bright. The edges are exceptionally solid, there is just the slightest corner and edge wear. The inside is excellent, the black is solid and the picture is perfect.
