A truly excellent copy of this increasingly rare and sought after 1973 UK 2nd pressing of this rock classic, on the  Atlantic orange & green label, K50008

The dead wax matrix numbers are :

Side 1  K50008 A2 with stampers "A" and "1 0" at 10 o'clock and 4 o'clock respectively and "ALLEN" etched into dead wax run-off

Side 2   K50008 B2 with stampers "B" and "1" at 10 o'clock and 3 o'clock respectively and "ALLEN" etched into dead wax run-off

The appearance of the flat, thick vinyl is truly excellent plus (EX+). Gleaming vinyl with jet black lacquering and in normal daylight no obviously detectable marks at all. Even with close scrutiny and under an intense light I could only identify a few small, very faint paper scuffs and wispy hairlines...insignificant. Truly brilliant condition vinyl and clearly having been played sparingly. 

The labels are excellent+ (EX+). Beautiful smooth textured labels with no unwanted writing or marks, with all text and colouring perfectly intact. If it wasn't for the fact that a couple of very light, small spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each are just detectable under a bright light, I would grade the labels as "near mint". 

The non-laminated gatefold outer sleeve is a solid excellent. Such an iconic sleeve, and becoming increasingly difficult to come across either 1st or even 2nd pressing sleeves which are in excellent condition. This sleeve has no obvious faults, just a few very light and intermittent scuff marks on the top and bottom edges and some minimal rubbing on each corner which still remain nicely defined right angles. All edges, including the opening edges, remain rigid as does the spine which is firm throughout and the only blemish being a 3mm "nick" on the front edge of the spine a quarter of the way from the bottom (barely noticeable). The inside of the gatefold is similarly impressive with no obvious blemishes at all and certainly no creasing, no unwanted writing, no sticker residue, and no nasty marks. A solid excellent throughout.

The quality of the audio is simply brilliant. No skips, repeats or jumps, no background crackle/interference and great tone and clarity throughout even at higher volume and on the higher frequencies. The one blemish is x3 mild clicks during the interlude between tracks 2 and 3 on side 1 for which (annoyingly) I can find no reason. I have inspected the vinyl multiple times under a bright light and cannot detect any scratch or mark or nick which is responsible for these three clicks - I can only put it down to dust in the grooves through decades of storage and perhaps a proper clean will cure. That apart the quality of the audio is outstanding, with every track on this wonderful album making for a great listen.

Comes with original thick paper "GOTHIC PRINT" inner sleeve, with the track listings on one side and "Stairway To Heaven" lyrics on the other. This inner sleeve is in excellent condition with no tears or creasing but does have  a single 4cm split in the middle of the left edge. Note that I always post the record in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.

In summary a truly excellent copy of this increasingly rare and sought after 1973 UK 2nd pressing rock classic - worthy of gracing any vinyl collection and only continuing to gain in value.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl thick cardboard "crucifix" style mailer along with at least two thick cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in separating the record from the outer sleeve in order to help prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
