Description

Here is one of the rarest variants of Led Zep IV.

This has the first pressing A3/B3 matrixes (and PORKY and PECKO DUCK etched), the side two label has the fairly common misprint for track one ('Top' rather than 'Hop') but also has the rare inverted feather symbol.

Vinyl play-grading: I have listened to this record from start to finish. The quiet tracks have some background noise and there are a few clicks at various points, but nothing loud or that lasts more than a few seconds and certainly none of them spoil the enjoyment of the record. The quiet parts sound very good and the loud parts sound near mint. Overall I think that the vinyl should get a play-grading of EXCELLENT MINUS condition.

Vinyl visual-grading: There are lots of light surface marks, but nothing bad and certainly no deep marks. Overall I think that the vinyl should get a visual-grading of VERY GOOD condition.

Labels: Some blemishes near the centre of the side two label, but no other issues. Labels graded side one: VERY GOOD PLUS and side two: VERY GOOD MINUS.

The cover looks very respectable compared with many I have seen. There is a split in the bottom seam which has been repaired from the inside and it is only noticeable if you look inside the cover. There is also a repaired patch to a small sticker tear in the top right-hand corner of the front sleeve. Other than these issues the cover is in decent condition with just normal wear and tear. I think that the cover should be graded as VERY GOOD MINUS condition.

The inner sleeve has been repaired at the seams and along the opening, with the edges repaired/reinforced with clear tape. Because of this I think that the inner sleeve should be graded as GOOD to FAIR condition.

My LP gradings are based on the UK Record Collector grading system. Please make sure you are familiar with the grading system before you place a bid .

Please make sure that you understand the grading system:
MINT: The record looks brand new and has no signs of ever having been played. The cover and packaging look brand new.
NEAR MINT: The record shows minimal signs of having been played, with no marks on the playing surface and perhaps some light spindle trails on the labels. The cover and packaging look almost like new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.

Where an item falls between two grades then plus or minus (+ or -) may be added.
