Using the UK Record Collector Grading System, this record has been play graded as VG for side one and VG+/Ex- for side two. Read below for details.
This has the following matrix numbers:
2401012 A//3 and 2401012 B//4 and the run-outs are etched with PECKO DUCK and PORKY.
The cover and inner have various splits and signs of age, wear and use, some of which have been repaired.
The vinyl has various marks, hairlines and signs of use, most of which are light and not particularly significant, and there are more on side one than side two. I have listened to the whole album and it plays through without jumps or skips and there are parts which sound superb, but there is background noise in quiet parts and a some clicks here and there, so that different tracks play-grade at different levels, as detailed below.
Side one: There are some clicks during the first part of 'Black Dog' which are slightly annoying, although the rest of the track sounds fine and the next track 'Rock 'n' Roll' play-grades as Excellent (Ex) or better. Inevitably there is some background noise in the fades, silent grooves and intros and in some of the quiet parts such as the intros to 'The Battle of Evermore' or 'Stairway to Heaven' and there were also a handful of clicks near the beginning of 'Stairway to Heaven' and some fuzziness, but there's nothing that overpowers the music. Averaging everything out, I would play-grade side one overall around Very Good (VG). Many parts are much better than that and there is certainly nothing to warrant a lower play-grade overall.
Side two is generally better than side one: some background noise and crackle in the fades and intros etc, but 'Misty Mountain Hop' sounds great with little to note and so play-grades around Excellent (Ex). 'Four Sticks' had just a handful of very quiet clicks briefly in the background, but otherwise it too sounds great, and grades around Excellent. 'Going to California' is the quietest track on side two but sounded fine with just some quiet background here and there and three quiet clicks, and 'When the Levee Breaks' sounds powerful and heavy as it should, with just the inevitable overloading (distortion found in this track on most red/plum pressings) to detract. Overall I would play-grade side two as a VERY SAFE Very Good plus (VG+), possibly Excellent minus (Ex-).
This isn't a copy for an audio perfectionist, but it's a perfectly playable example.

Vinyl is removed from the sleeve for posting and the contents will be protected with rigid cardboard stiffeners. Packages are labelled "Do not bend" and securely sealed with "FRAGILE" parcel tape.
