Description
I do my best to grade all our records as accurately as I can... please refer to the pictures or send me an Ebay message for more details.
Here we have a copy of Led Zeppelin IV, also known as Zeppelin 4 or their self titled album. This is a very rare early pressing, one of the highly collectible Atlantic Red/Plum editions. There are 8 versions of these copies, and this particular one is version 5. You can identify this particular version by the following features:
- "Marketed by Polydor Records Limited" appears at the 6 o'clock position on the labels
- "Under licence from Atlantic Recording Corpn" appears in the white section underneath "Atlantic"
- "Led Zeppelin" is printed above the spindle hole
- The catalogue number appears just above the Atlantic logo at the 3 o'clock position
- Produced by Jimmy Page appears on the labels
- Publishing credits are Kinney Music Ltd & Superhype Music Inc
- "Misty Mountain Hop" has been mis-spelt "Misty Mountain Top"
These early pressing are extremely rare and can be highly collectible. This particular version has been know to fetch close to £200 online through various record collector websites, discogs etc.

Sleeve Condition – GOOD+ – The gatefold cover is generally in good condition. There's some light evidence of shelf wear, a little on the edges and spine, nothing too bad but you can tell it's age and that it has been enjoyed though seemingly well looked after. There is a slight seem split along the bottom. Please note the insert is missing.
Record Condition – FAIR-/POOR – Record looks to have quite a few hair lines on both sides. I'm not too sure how much these will affect play, they might cause some background crackle, or maybe a few pops. I can also see a scratch or two, these might cause a pop or at worst a jump. The labels also show some wear, in particular side 2 (see photos). Please note this copy is not a pristine example. It's ideal for anyone who would like an early copy for their collection without spending huge money, as opposed to a very clean copy with great audio for a high price. These are very collected so I wanted to try and grade it fairly. It might play fine with some crackle, or it might have loud crackle and a few jumps. I haven't play tested. I am starting the bidding low in comparison to what these copies can fetch.
