Description

LED ZEPPELIN In Through the Out Door SS (SWAN SONG) #16002, 1979 ORIGINAL US FIRST PRESSING Vinyl Record Album NM/NM. Includes the often-missing original brown paper bag jacket cover, and this is jacket design “F” of the 6 different lettered jackets, A-B-C-D-E-F. The jacket has the “saw-cut” on the top right as-seen in the photos. Please see all photos and all details in the “Item Specifics” section, above. When I bought this years ago, I carefully slit-open the brown paper bag cover. These are usually missing as people would through them away when they opened the record. Consequently, if the paper bag is present, the record is worth another 50% of the book value price, on-top-of the listed value. In this case, as noted, this is lettered jacket design “F,” as lettered in the spine label. There were 6 different covers with this album. So all-in-all, it was a pretty interesting package. The record vinyl is actually MINT, but I am conservatively grading as I always do—nice, glossy, NOT A MARK OR THING WRONG! The jacket and brown paper bag are NM—there is the saw-cut, otherwise absolutely perfect. Same with the inner heavyweight paper picture sleeve.

This record like most other Led Zeppelin records was pressed and manufactured at Specialty Records Corporation, Olyphant, Pennsylvania, and has the “SRC” monogram along with the Matrix Number (see Item Specifics section above for Matrix Number,) in the “Dead Wax” “Run-Out” of the vinyl disc. I was employed at Specialty Records for many years. They were a first-class record pressing plant. I believed the best in the United States. So like all vinyl produced there, this record is a top-quality pressing.

Swan Song label, and “Swan Song” indeed this was, for Zeppelin. This was their 8th studio album release, 1979, and it turned-out to be their last. Drummer John Bonham, on this album, unfortunately died afterwards, and then the group disbanded. Here’s a beautiful copy, ORIGINAL NOT REISSUE, at a vg price. Sometimes there are quite a few copies of a record on eBay, and the Collector can be really at a loss judging them all, and the prices. You can be sure of my record grading. I am a long-time Collector and I worked for years in the industry. I know the labels, catalog numbers, releases, etc. Please take a look at my feedback for recent vinyl records I’ve sold. “Don’t worry, don’t worry.” 😊👍

US buyers only, from the lower 48 continental states only, please. THANK YOU for looking at my records. Please take a look at my other record listings—including Led Zeppelin IV (Runes) “Zoso.” That listing is a copy STILL-SEALED in the shrink wrap, with 3 Hype Stickers, an older pressing from 1977. Of course, I would be happy always to combine shipping whenever possible. If you bought one record, and you THINK you may purchase another in a short time period, I’m also willing to help you out. “Special little deals” are also possible in these cases—just message me. Thanks!
