Description

LED ZEPPELIN LED ZEPPELIN II ATLANTIC SD 8236

COVER - FACTORY SEALED - NEW (MINT)
VINYL - FACTORY SEALED - NEW (MINT)

Original issue 1st US pressing Led Zeppelin II with the four digit catalog number SD 8236. This issue might have the "1841 Broadway, New York, N. Y." address on the Atlantic Records label or "75 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, N.Y." address without the Warner Company logo on the Atlantic Records label.  Starting in 1975, the four digit catalog number "SD 8236" was replaced with the five digit catalog number "SD 19127" having the Warner Company logo at the bottom of the label. The reasons why I think that this the very early 1st pressing, having "1841 Broadway, New York, N. Y." address on the label, is the hype sticker "Includes The Hit Single Whole Lotta Love SD 8236" affixed to the front cover under the shrink wrap and the quality of the cardboard, which the gatefold cover is made of. I've had many Led Zeppelin II covers and I can state that the very early copies were made out of raw textured thick cardboard and had a light brown hue (which is drastically different from later pressings that had gloss and red brown hue). In addition to this, the weight of this copy is getting close to 400g, which is also typical of the very early 1st pressings. I am not going to speculate the assumption that this might be the Robert Ludwig press. Amazing condition with the shrink wrap fully intact with two breathe holes at the bottom part of the front cover.
