Description
Welcome to the World of MacLizardking’s Music.
Greetings and warmest New Year’s felicitations to one and all... I’ve been off the bay for a while as there’s not been enough hours in the day and have also “closed” the store as, to be honest; I couldn’t really see the benefits to you or I. However, I’ve decided a bit of a thin-out of the vinyl mountain must take place (that or move house again!) so am having a clear out of assorted personal gems, along with duplicates and, latterly, singles. As ever, I’ve either tried to find the more interesting and rare stuff or pristine copies of those more recent lp you’d always been after… or in some cases, both! All of the same service and high quality still applies, but the listings might be a bit more sporadic than before… I also no-longer live next to a post office, so will dispatch the Saturday morn, following payment being received.
Here’s the deal folks…
· I grade honestly to a STRICT “Record Collector” grading system.
· ALL listings have the same low-start price, as they find the right price eventually… sometimes!
· I ONLY sell high quality vinyl, some rare, some far less so, but always the best I can find.
· If it says “NM”… it means “NM”.
· Start prices are NOT indicative of condition, so there’s serious potential bargains to be had.
· Every lp is re-housed in a high-quality polly-lined inner sleeve & a thick pollythene* outer sleeve.
· Every lp is both visually and aurally inspected. The ONLY way to appoint an accurate grading.
· Every lp is re-housed in the polly sleeve, outside the original prior to packaging. No splits!
· I l feedback WHEN YOU PAY! No “ransoming” here! You’ve done your bit, so now it’s up to me!
· I package each lp personally and with a ludicrous level of care! Practically a work of art!
· I strive to provide the VERY best product and service levels possible, with detailed descriptions.
· I do all this as I genuinely love both music and people, and e-bay is a fantastic forum for both!
· PLEASE check my feedback… it even amazes me as to how kind buyer’s comments can be!
Peace & love…
MacLizardking.

Introduction and MacLizardking’s Initial Review: So, what better way to start off some Sunday listings that with a stone-cold-classic! Zep IV, on the pink, in superb condition… it’s even still got the Ltd Edit sticker on the front panel! A seriously tidy gatefold sleeve, housing a beautiful textured liner, itself housing a near flawless pink vinyl edition of this simply awesome album.
*Note: Having, literally, just been pulled out of my collection, this one comes in a high quality, heavy gauge, clear pvc slip, with my original gradings / notes on a little tag on the back of the pvc sleeve… straight from the MacLizardking Vault, as it were!
Now, please read on for the full, glorious details… being both my personal description statement and accuracy of condition guarantee, not to mention the stack of photo’s contained within the listing detail itself. As above, all listings benefit from a full play through, on my “every-glitch-audible” grading set up of classic wooden Revolver deck and Pioneer A333 amp, all pulsing through a rather splendid pair of Wharfedale Pacific Pi-40 floor-standers.
Detailed Cover & Inner-sleeve Review.
Specific cover grading: EX
Comment: Gothic Print Finishers gatefold, with just the lightest ware.
Front: All is clean, bright and beautiful. I think the original owner tried to remove the Ltd Edit sticker, but, thankfully, had a change of heart as part of it has been very neatly taped back in to place. So, NO damage to the sleeve itself, just the sticker. Though you’ve got to look really closely to spot anything!
Back: pretty much perfect, bar a couple of miniscule stress creases to the top seam.
Edges & Corners: Slightest fuzzing to corner tips and tiny, tiny dink to bottom of spine. Seams unworn.
Spine: Spine in near perfect shape, bar tiny dink as mentioned above, but, obviously, not legible, as there’/s no writing to be legible!
Inner-sleeve: Stunning original Stairway lyric / info liner. There’s slight rubbing to the lower left seam, when viewed from the track listing side (photo 4 below) and the seemingly obligatory split in the lower seam, but still very tidy and one of the better examples I’ve seen, now with brand new polly-liner.
Record Collector Sleeve Gradings;
M (Mint) : “The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition”
NM (Near Mint) : The slightest whisper off perfect, as described above.
EX (Excellent): “The cover and packaging might have minor ware and/or creasing”
VG (Very Good) : “Normal ware and tare on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable”
G (Good) : “The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc”.
F (Fair) : “The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced”.
P (Poor) : “The cover or contents will be badly damaged or partly missing”.
Detailed Vinyl/s & Labels Review.
Specific Vinyl grading: EX-
Comment: A very HARSH grading….
Visual: Gorgeous deep pink colour, devoid of any obvious marks when viewed in daylight, bar a solitary LIGHT, surface skate mark at the end of side two. A REAL looker! It’s harder to pick up everything on these coloured vinyls (that’s why they’re generally black!) but this one looks simply superb. Now to the really important bit…
Audio: An infinitesimal tickle of background sound on the play in and then we’re off! Two sides of pure genius… warm, loud and, above all else, clear, rock music of the highest calibre! I dropped this grading to a minus rating as I did catch two tiny ticks at the start of “Battle of Evermore” and one right at the end, but, beyond the slightest tickle of sound between a few of the tracks, this one really is incredible… awesome separation and clarity… NOTHING nasty at the start of Stairway (from dropped needles mostly!) and when the jangly guitar kicks in, it’s lovely and clean – no distortion, as so often seems to be the case… so, as ever trying to offer the most accurate descriptions to you lucky lot, if it weren’t for the tiny 2 and 2 ticks on Evermore, this would be an easy EX++, and, obviously, the aforementioned surface mark is just that, a surface mark… I’m sitting here listening to Levee and, frankly, it’s utterly awesome! If you’ve been after a “pink”, I rather fancy you’ve just found it!
Labels: Near flawless pair of Atlantic’s, there’s even a whisper of pink flashing on one side!
Record Collector Vinyl Gradings;
M (Mint) : “The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.”
NM (Near Mint) : The slightest whisper off perfect, as described above.
EX (Excellent) : “The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality”
VG (Very Good) : “The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch”
G (Good) : “The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches”
F (Fair) : “The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump”.
P (Poor) : “The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc”.
B (Bad) : “The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler”.

Photos: All photos are VERY carefully set up, with NO possibility what-so-ever of damage to the precious vinyl being photographed!

P&P Prices:
Albums & 12” Singles
Solo 12” LP Record: UK = £3.00, Europe = £5.00, Rest of World = £7.00
Please note: I always try to post as quickly as possible after you’ve paid, but I no longer have the luxury of both living and working next door to a post office and having a job that allowed me to take the office phone with me when I was dispatching your lovelies! Therefore, it’s going to be the Saturday morning after you’ve paid that I load all my packages in to the jeep and head out in to the wilds to the nearest post office! We are talking deep, deep, DEEP in the countryside now! These costs are for the standard GB postage rate and at least £1.00’s worth of packaging materials! There’s been a slight increase in p&p, but this is simply as everything else seems to have gone up too! Each package also takes me considerable time and attention to wrap, but I’m giving you my time and great care for free! As you’ll see when you get the thing, there is no profit and the charges are not negotiable; particularly post sale – the ONLY reason I EVER received a negative rating… the swine!
Please add the following cost per disc, up to a maximum of 5 discs per package.
UK + £1.00 Europe + £2.00 Rest of World + £3.50

And finally…
Whilst this may all appear slightly excessive on the detail front, I do go to great lengths to ensure the accuracy of these listings and promote “service” and “honesty” as treasured commodities as, on rare occasion, I have found them to be lacking in (one or two) others with whom I have dealt on e-bay… however, NOT here! I feel I should also add that I have been professionally involved in either the music or entertainment industry for the last 20 years and as a fan of all genres of “quality” music since year “dot”… To verify all this manic attention to detail please do check my feedback, which I go to great lengths to keep positive and my buyers are both cool and kind enough to leave.
OVER 2500 POSITIVE SALES FEEDBACK RATINGS CAN’T BE WRONG FOLKS!!!
My genuine appreciation for looking at my listing and checking out all this blurb. I hope this finds you well, under “blue skies” and at peace with your world, whilst listening to some groovy tunes on the greatest format ever, lovely, lovely warm & natural vinyl!
Cheers, peace & love;
MacLizardking.
