This very early red / plum pressing plays with stunning quality on both sides with no interference. That is not guesswork as I have played the album in full as always and I can safely say the clarity, depth, power and definition of the audio is amongst the finest I have ever heard. It is a FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing in my opinion. It has been so well looked after and has clearly not been played too much. Even the organ intro on 'Your Time Is Gonna Come' on S2 plays very clearly which is a rarity!
The laminated cover with the grey band on the bottom edge is in lovely condition with barely any wear and it has retained its original shape and structure perfectly. The original Plastic Bags... inner is also in superb shape with very little wear. This is known as a second red / plum pressing and is recognised as Version 6 on Discogs. It has the Warner Bros / 7 Arts... publishing credits printed in one line on both labels.

Visual description
The vinyl is in great condition and still has a very impressive glossy look and no scratches. There is one small mark / blemish on S2 but it no impact on the superb audio quality. Aside from that the vinyl is so clean with only a small number of faint hairlines and there is no groove wear or 'bag rash' at all. The run out grooves are super clean and the iconic red / plum labels have no marking / writing and have hardly any spindle wear on S1 and just a little more on S2.
Play Grading
The run in on S1 has no background and then the intro on 'Good Times Bad Times' plays with powerful audio and no interference. Plant's opening vocal / chorus is on the same level with just one minor static as it ends. From then on it plays with great quality and there is no distortion on the top end. Page's solo is so strong and dynamic and the closing vocal / instrumental section / fade out has no intrusion either. This is a Mint- start to this classic album. . The acoustic intro on 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You' plays with exceptional clarity and the first verse is just as impressive. The first up-tempo section is flawless and the next vocal is so clean also - you can clearly hear the 'baby' around the 1.40 mark, a good measure of the clarity on offer here. There is no underlying static and it continues to plays with stunning precision. The mid instrumental incorporating Bonham's frenetic drumming and Plant's 'high register' vocal is superb and again there is no distortion. There are so many quiet acoustic sections and yet they all play so clearly without any background and the louder passages play with that typical dynamic Led Zepp sound. There is no 'muddiness' to the sound and the quieter end section plays beautifully with not even a single dust tick, a genuine rarity. This is easily one of the finest versions of this classic that I have ever listened to and Mint- is deserved at the very least.
The intro on 'You Shook Me' plays with stunning with Jones' deep bass very much in evidence. The opening vocal section has no interference and the first organ (or mellotron?) passage is superb. The harmonica section, the second part of the long instrumental, is faultless and Page's solo is just as strong and clear. Once more you really notice the depth and separation of the audio - each note is so clean and precise and there is nothing getting in the way of the audio. Jones deep bass that drives this section and because the record is so clean you don't lose any of the original sonic quality. The next verse from Plant and his final high octane vocal could not play any better and it just has to grade as Mint- again, a STUNNING version.
The bass intro on 'Dazed And Confused' has no background Plant's opening vocal is just as clean and strong. From then on it plays with such precision and for a final track the sonic quality is outstanding. The power and definition of the audio is superb and the quieter mid instrumental has just one very light tick. As the volume increases Page's work is stunning and the rhythm section of Jones and Bonham is working at a furious pace also! The playback is so powerful and if there is any inner groove distortion it is kept to an absolute minimum and does not intrude on the audio. When the riff comes back in the playback is incredible and the final vocal / instrumental has no interference either. I was maybe thinking of Near Mint but it's such a strong version I honestly think Mint- is fair. What a side!

The organ intro on 'Your Time Is Gonna Come' is so often affected by static / crackle but this is one of the cleanest I have ever heard. There is only a minimal amount of static distortion in a couple of places and there are no ticks, clicks or pops. As the volume decreases into the 'low key' piece the clarity is stunning and as Bonham and then Page join in the audio can only be described 'as new'. The same applies to the first verse and chorus and it proceeds in the same manner. Every vocal section plays with impeccable quality and nothing is 'lost' here, every note is just so clean and distinct. It has to grade as Near Mint
The segue into 'Black Mountain Side' is perfect and this acoustic instrumental then plays with a clarity that cannot be beaten. It is Mint from start to finish.
'Communication Breakdown' then plays with great power and definition from the get go. A rare definition actually because it is so often affected by a 'tinny' distortion but not here. Another indication that the vinyl has not been played very much. It plays so well and if you win this just listen to the Page solo section, you will know exactly what I mean! The sonic quality is immense throughout and that includes the fade out. 'As new' is no exaggeration and when I say there is NO distortion I 100% mean it! It is Mint in every way.
The vocal only intro 'I Can't Quit You Baby' has no background and when Jones' bass and then Page's bluesy guitar come in the playback is flawless. The next vocal is equal to that and it continues in the same precise way. Of course so many quiet sections and yet they all play with unbelievable clarity and warmth. Page's mid instrumental is so clean with not even a single dust tick and sacrilege I know but I've never really noticed Bonham's drumming during this section. There's a real depth to it here. The final verse has no intrusion and to the final note the audio is crystal clear. This is Mint and I haven't heard many of those in my time!
The classic bass intro on 'How Many More Times' plays to perfection as does the rest of this section. Plant's opening vocal is comparable to that and accompanied by Page's classic riff the playback is incredible. The first extended instrumental is 'as new' and the following quiet section has no intrusion aside from a minor amount of static distortion towards the end? Very very minor! The quiet section / vocal then plays with sublime clarity and as the volume builds there is no interference or distortion and the Oh Rosie.. vocal again has no sign of any background. The quality does not falter and the final vocal section / riff section both play with STUNNING power, depth and resonance. This truly is an exceptional version and again I am confident in grading this as Mint- such is the quality.
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The laminated cover is in superb condition with hardly any shelf wear. The edges have no rubbing / marking and the thin pinched spine has only a handful of usual 'indents' but no actual wear and remains 100% legible. All corners are incredibly clean and the opening edge has no handling wear at all. The front cover is stunning with (rarely) no laminate creasing and the only 'issue' is some laminate 'lift' next to the spine as is common. Just one tiny crease next to the spine also - so often you find a number of them and one tiny corner crease bottom left. The back cover is just as impressive with very little marking / staining on the top and bottom edge. The laminate does not actually reach right to the edges so they have remained very clean over the last 55 years. This is definitely one of the best you will find today, a stunning example!
The original poly-lined 'Plastic Bags...' inner is in great shape also with no side splits or tears, no marking and only minimal creasing.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
