Description

I will declare a lower amount on the customs form for all countries so as to avoid/decrease high import charges.  However, in the case of the EU all purchases are subject to VAT which eBay collect at point of sale.  No shipping to Russia currently.   Led Zeppelin II A6 / B4 Early Red / Plum Press 1970
This early red / plum pressing is easily one of the finest versions I have ever listened to, the audio is STUNNING!  There is barely any interference, just one light click on S2, and the clarity of sound is phenomenal.  There are so many sections that you associate with static / static distortion on this album but that is not in evidence here.  Take 'Thank You' and 'Bring it On Home' for example, final tracks that often do not play well, the playback here is so clean and free of any interference.  The power, depth and resonance of the audio is stunning on both sides and it is clear this record has not been overplayed.  It's not far from a final upgrade and the vinyl is also in great condition which is not surprising considering the sonic quality.
The cover has also been very well preserved and is rarely found like this today, the front and back especially are superb.  The edges have a little rubbing but it's rare to find this matte textured cover as clean as this.  The original Plastic Bags inner (dated 1070) is also in excellent condition.  A stunning 'package'.    This is known as a third pressing with the 'Killing Floor' and 'Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just A Woman) credits on the labels.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy sheen and no obvious marks or scratches.  Under a bright light there are only a relatively small number of faint hairlines with only one on S1 that is a little more obvious.  Still a hairline though and still faint!  You still have to tilt the vinyl in order to see it.  There is no groove or surface wear and the run out grooves are very clean also.  The iconic red / plum Atlantic labels are unmarked with not very much spindle wear.
Play Grading
The classic intro on 'Whole Lotta Love' plays with sublime clarity and depth and Plant's opening vocal section is just as strong.  This entire section plays with deep, rich audio and with no intrusion.  The psychedelic section is so close to perfect with only one minor tick and there is no static distortion at all which makes a change, a sign that the record has not been overplayed.  As Bonham signals the end of this section Page's following solo could not play any better and the same can be said for the next vocal section.  The quiet Way down inside vocal plays very clearly with only a small number of light statics and the remainder of this classic has no interference.  A Near Mint start to the album.   The quiet opening section on 'What Is And What Should Never Be' plays with stunning clarity and the first high octane passage is flawless.  This track of course switches between loud and quiet and I am pleased to say every quiet section plays with such delicate precision and the louder passages with impeccable power and depth.  No distortion either.  It is without doubt one of the strongest versions I have ever heard - the clarity of sound is stunning.  There are no clicks, pops or static and only a handful of insignificant background statics.  It has to grade as Mint- and the long fade out has not one solitary dust tick, a genuine rarity.
'Killing Floor' again shows just how well this vinyl has been looked after.  The intro is perfect and Plant's opening vocal is equal to that.  The first high octane section with Page, Bonham and Jones really going at it (!) plays with such strong deep resonant audio and with no distortion on the top end.  Superb!  The first 'quieter' section with Jones very much to the fore plays with sublime clarity and depth and it continues in the same precise way.  The high powered final instrumental / closing vocal plays with genuine precision and I am again confident in grading this as Mint-
The build up intro on 'Thank You' plays with remarkable clarity (for once) and the quiet opening vocal is near perfect with just one very minor static.  This classic is often affected by static / distortion or both but so far so good!  The next section for example, superb audio quality and it proceeds in the same way.  The mid instrumental plays perfectly as does the next vocal section.  The super quiet If the sun refused to shine vocal passage plays with STUNNING clarity and we all know how rare that is, a couple of dust ticks at most nothing intrusive.  The organ section is exactly the same and the fade out / in / out section is OUTSTANDING!  It just never plays as clearly as this!  There are only a couple of minor static ticks but this is easily the 'cleanest' version I have heard in many a year.  I think Near Mint is about right but clearly many sections are stronger than that.

The unmistakeable intro on 'Heartbreaker' has only a couple of minor statics and the opening vocal has no intrusion.  The instrumental bridge is perfect as is the next vocal passage.  The more powerful mid section is superb - no distortion and so much depth - and Page's stand alone section right after plays with great clarity also, there is barely any static.  The next instrumental explains why the red / plum pressings are so collectable!  The power and definition of the audio is STUNNING and the end vocal / final riff plays to perfection.  Easily a Mint- version.
'Livin' Lovin' Maid...' is of the same high end standard with a sonic quality straight out of the 'as new' playbook!  One of Page's greatest riffs in my opinion and from start to finish this classic plays with supreme power and depth and of course... no interference.  This actually grades as Mint no minus here.
The intro and opening vocal section on 'Ramble On' play with perfect clarity and the first chorus has no background either.  It continues to play with a quality that defies the age of the album.  This is a track that often has some intrusion I find but every section here plays with such clean precise audio.  A couple of very quiet static 'moments' on the long fade out that is all but you hardly notice them.  Mint-
The intro on 'Moby Dick' has no background other than one click but I have no idea why it's there, no mark or needle drop for example.  The first part of Bonham's solo plays with incredible clarity and when I say there is hardly any static I mean it!  I noticed only 2/3 mega quiet statics in the 'low key' section.  As the pace and volume pick up the playback is stunning and the remainder is just as strong and clear.  It might not be everyone's 'thing' but there is no denying the audio quality here.  Page's closing section has no interference and overall I still think Near Mint- is an honest appraisal of the audio.  I mean 99% plays with amazing quality!
The bass / harmonica intro on 'Bring It On Home' is one of the cleanest I have ever heard, no background basically.  A couple of super quiet statics in the first vocal passage and as the volume increases the audio is STUNNING!  How can I put it - I have never heard this section play with such clear, strong audio as it is so often riddled with distortion but again this just goes to show how infrequently this vinyl has been played.  The playback is incredible, the power, depth and resonance is just off the scale!  The quiet end vocal also plays with sublime clarity and I have no hesitation in grading it as Mint- at the very least.  Never heard anything like it!
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in lovely condition also with only minimal shelf wear.  The edges have some rubbing but certainly not an excessive amount and the wide spine is very clean, 100% legible with only a handful of small 'specks' but it slightly 'angled'.  The corners have a little wear but again not too much and the opening edge has hardly any handling wear.  The front cover is stunning with only a couple of minor creases next to the spine and the back cover is just as impressive.  The inside of the gatefold is immaculate.  A superb example overall.
The original poly-lined 'Plastic Bags...' inner (dated 1070) is in excellent shape with no side splits or tears, barely any marking and only some light age related fading around the edges and minimal creasing.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
