BACKGROUND TO THESE TWO LPs

I bought these LPs some years ago from their previous owner.  He bought all his LPs at his local record fair in the late 1970s and early 1980s.  He hadn't collected records since 1989 - so these were just sitting untouched in a room.  Unfortunately I believe in both cases, the records have been swopped at some point.  This is because the covers are quite literally the EARLIEST POSSIBLE 1st Press covers - with the EARLIEST POSSIBLE 'Lightest Brown' Covers. Barely ANY of these covers exist, with only the first few hundred copies ever having them!!!!  EVEN RARER STILL ONE OF THE COVERS HAS THE RAREST POSSIBLE 1ST PRESS VARIATION - WITH THE INSIDE BEING UPSIDE DOWN, AND THE WRONG END BEING SEALED (THIS COVER OPENS FROM THE FRONT COVER END - INSTEAD OF THE BACK COVER!).  However both records have the Killing Floor label credits.  So this says to me that LONG BEFORE the cover colour was important - the dealer he bought these LPs from in the 1970s was putting earlier records in better conditioned later covers.  Or perhaps maybe the covers for these records were destroyed, and the dealer matched them up for that reason.  Or perhaps these were left over covers and got matched with Killing Floor records at the factory (though I doubt it).  Who can say.  THAT SAID THE UPSIDE DOWN COVER IS A DOCUMENTED SUPER RARITY IN ITS OWN RIGHT - AND THE CHANCES OF YOU EVER FINDING ANOTHER AGAIN - IS VIRTUALLY ZERO (AS ONLY 1 BATCH - 300 COPIES - WAS EVER MADE!)!!!!

WHAT THESE LPs ARE:-  1969 UK 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS (WITH LATE 1969 RECORDS) - WITH 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'E.J.DAY' LIGHTEST POSSIBLE BROWN COVERS, 'RED/MAROON' (PLUM) ATLANTIC LABELS + 1ST PRESS '588 198' CAT NUMBERS TO MATRIXES, COVERS, & LABELS!!!!

CONDITION:-

I will do each cover & record in turn - as the winning bidder with own both, and simply match them up how they like!!!!

RECORD 1 :-  The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, some spotting on 1 label from manufacture, NO writing, and only a few VERY light spindle marks!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASNT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in absolutely BRILLIANT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable.  This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, NO scufflines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW!!!!  Record 1 also has an A//6 B//4 matrix.  It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some VERY low level background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - NOT in the music AT ALL!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!!  The record must grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!!  BRILLIANT RECORD!!!!

RECORD 2 :-  The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few VERY light spindle marks!!!!  The vinyl is in GREAT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable.  This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, only 2 or 3 VERY light scufflines, 2 or 3 ULTRA light surface traces, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW!!!!  Record 2 also has an A//5 B//4 matrix.  It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some slight background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - NOT in the music AT ALL!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!!  The record must grade Very Good+ if not better!!!! 

COVER 1:-  The RAREST EVER (1 BATCH ONLY!) UPSIDE DOWN 'E.J.Day' LIGHTEST BROWN 'Earliest' 1st Press Cover is is still VERY presentable indeed!!!!  It has NO edge splits, some edge wear, NO stickers, NO sellotape, NO tape marks, some wear to the spine (with some 'invisible' tape' here also - though this is really almost INVISIBLE!), slight corner wear, only 1 TINY 'touched in' wear trace to the top left of the cover front (this is VERY small indeed) and a couple of traces on the opening edges, only a few light creases (cover is still VERY flat looking!), NO ringwear, only VERY slight general rubbing, NO rips, NO tears, NO annotations, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL - though in my opinion these have been trimmed in the distant past.  Even the inside of the cover is in SUPERB condition with NO grubbyness, NO yellowing, NO rubbing, and NO writing!!!!  The cover must grade Good+ (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not better - though it is still VERY presentable indeed, with absolutely NO MAJOR STRUCTURAL DEFECTS AT ALL!!!!  IT COULD EVEN BE COMPLETELY UNIQUE - AS I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER ONE!!!!

COVER 2:-  The ORIGINAL 'E.J.Day' LIGHTEST BROWN 'Earliest' 1st Press Cover is is still VERY presentable indeed!!!!  It has NO edge splits, only VERY slight edge wear, NO stickers, NO sellotape, NO tape marks, only VERY slight spinal wear (side words still readable!), only slight corner wear, some wear to the lower cover back, only a few VERY light creases (cover is VERY flat looking indeed!), NO ringwear, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL, NO annotations, and NO writing!!!!  Unfortunately the 1 previous owner decided to laminate the cover (which actually makes the front cover look SUPERB!) - though to be fair, he did an excellent job of it, apart from a couple of bits he missed on the cover back.  The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!!!!!  Even the inside of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition with NO grubbyness, NO yellowing, only VERY slight rubbing, and NO writing!!!!  The cover must grade Good+ (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not better - though it is still VERY presentable indeed, with absolutely NO MAJOR STRUCTURAL DEFECTS AT ALL!!!!
