Description
LED ZEPPELIN - Led Zeppelin II LP Atlantic SD 8236
Original 1969 US pressing with the oh-so-desirable Robert Ludwig hot cut mastering that sounds totally loud and amazing. Both sides of the record have the requisite “RL SS” matrix etchings indicating Mr. Ludwig’s mastering job for Sterling Sound. (The "SS" is very faint and does not show well in the photos, but rest assured it is present on both sides.)
Vinyl is around VG- shape visually with a lots of light scuffing on both sides but nothing too major. One small mark at the beginning of "What Is And What Should Never Be" causes a few light ticks but other than that the record still plays nicely with occasional surface noise that is mostly drowned out by the loud mastering job.
Sleeve is also VG shape, no major problems, just some overall light wear and a bit of a seam split beginning to pop out at the center of the spine.
GRADING:
NM (near mint) is the highest grade for a record in beautiful shape.
EX (excellent) means there is very little to no wear -- a small, inaudible surface mark on the vinyl or a small bend on the sleeve
VG+ (very good plus) means the record has minor wear -- sleeve creased and/or shows a slight ring impression, vinyl shows cosmetic signs of handling
VG (very good) means the sleeve shows multiple flaws (sticker tear, seam split, ring wear, rumpled top) and the disc has multiple small scratches but plays ok
VG- (very good minus) means the sleeve is "well loved" with numerous flaws while the vinyl is exhibits many flaws and is noisy
G (good) means the sleeve contains major flaws such as large tears, heavy staining, etc., while the vinyl is beat but playable with no skips
