Barely Played Stunning TOP Near Mint Audio Quality Through out! Unbelievable for 40 years Old Like This!

AWESOME AUDIO ON MY SYSTEMS UK PRESSING COMPLETE AND ORIGINAL!

Another from my personal collection! An original and totally complete Early UK pressing, both vinyls looks and sounds barely ever played at all! unbelievable to find after 40 years! LOOK! Early "A""B""C""D" Hand Etched Matrix endings! The audio is awesome throughout and has only ever been played a minimal amount of times ever! There is no loud constant clicks or pops, just very minor isolated static crackle\ticks or isolated pop heard only, perhaps in quiet places only audio graded at least excellent plus overall to Near mint for the most part in my opinion!  Important features are the original box cover made in England with "The Old Kent Road' address on the rear of the cover (only early press) which has only light storage ware with age only. Complete with original thick card inner and thick card record sleeves all made in England! (Later issues are made in Germany) Look Highly collectable and sought after like this!

Physical Graffiti is the sixth album, a double album by the English hard rock band Led Zeppelin.

It was released on February 24, 1975 and was the band's first release on its own Swan Song Records label!!.

The recording sessions for Physical Graffiti took place in January and February 1974 at Headley Grange in East Hampshire, England. Several of the songs on the album, however, were recorded during the sessions for previous Led Zeppelin albums.

The instrumental "Bron-Yr-Aur" was recorded in July 1970 at Island Studios, London, for Led Zeppelin II. "Night Flight" and "Boogie with Stu" were recorded at Headley Grange and "Down by the Seaside" at Island Studios, all for Led Zeppelin IV.

"The Rover" and "Black Country Woman" were recorded at the same sessions as "D'yer Mak'er" at Stargroves using the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio in May 1972. "Houses of the Holy" was also recorded in May 1972, but at Olympic Studios.

The group's fifth album Houses of the Holy took its title from this song, despite the decision not to include the song on that album!!!.

The remaining eight songs were all recorded during the sessions for Physical Graffiti in early 1974. Additional overdubs were added and the final mixing was performed in October 1974 by Keith Harwood!!

The 1st Issue Die Cut Box Cover

The original album jacket for the LP included die-cut windows on the building shown on the cover!.

As the inner sleeves for the discs were inserted in different orientations, various objects and people would appear in the windows, including photos of the band members in drag. The two buildings photographed for the album cover are located at 96 and 98 St. Mark's Place in New York City These are the same buildings Mick JaggEr is in front of in the Rolling Stones music video "Waiting on a Friend".

The Vinyls

 On initial inspection ,both vinyls lay perfectly flat on the turntable and are free of any warps. (thicker heavier type than later press which are much more flimsier) Iinitially it is hard to see a blemish on the playing surfaces, only on very close inspection I notice very very fine surface marks/scratches mostly caused by what looks like debrit has caused from being trapped in the cardboard sleeves  (common on this pressing) any that may possibly be seen would be very light whyspy sleeve removal only (Importantly there is no deep needle scratches or audio sounding marks that cause any loud constant clicks or pops that I can hear) These vinyls retain their original sheen from new these look like they have barely ever been played at all in my opinion, very hard to find like this indeed!

The Audio Quality

 I have played both the vinyls through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! The moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious these vinyls have barely ever been played  just a minimal amount of times only and certainly not overplayed in my opinion!!  The audio quality is as you would expect, superbe, TOP, TOP, TOP! crystal clear and extremely vibrant through out ! (importantly I heard no constant loud clicks or pops throughout and no distortion or groove ware at all!   The vinyls have been stored separately from the cover in a poly sleeve for over 30 years! This is the way I always  have stores my records! The audio on this pressing in my opinion is almost as good as it gets for a very early UK pressing!!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for light static crackle\ticks isolated pop/pops only that may be heard heard during some isolated quiet parts during the audio and not consistant throughout the audio. Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!

To sum up

 The audio is clear and very vibrant throughout no distortion groove ware no loud constant clicks or pops, any static crackle heard/odd pop only in very few isolated quiet places only the separation is awesome throughout and the vibrancy will be hard to surpass in my opinion only found like this on the earliest pressings and the fact that these are the original thicker heavier type of vinyl material makes all the difference in my opinion. I would grade the overall audio at least excellent plus to near mint for the most part on my systems! 

It is easy to be critical about the audio quality on these mid seventies pressings. Please allow for the odd isolated light static crackle\ticks isolated pop that may be heard only in some very quiet places during the play of these vinyls, The fact that these vinyls have minimal play only, produces the best audio quality experience possible in my opinion!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 35 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle\ticks! A constant clean before each play is recomended. This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality!

The Labels

All four sides look like they have had only minimal play only. Just minimal spidering can be seen around the spindle hole. Little if no spindle wear the holes are perfectly round.

The Original Insert

This is the original white insert made from thick card smooth on the outside and textured on the inside (only found on 1st press) later press are much thinner card! Generally nice and straight light wear with age very,very light grubby at the top but you would need to look for it to notice!

The Picture Record Sleeves

These are the original thick card type record sleeves Printed in England one carries the cat no SSK 89400/A and the other SSK 89400/B (Later press are made of thin paper like material and are made in Germany) There are no splits or tears. Amaizingly there are no nasty creases to mention. Very minor corner bumping only and not noticed unless looked for in my opinion.  The vinyls are now stored separately from these sleeves.

The Original Box Cover

This is the original 1st issue box type cover with the die cut windows importantly 'MADE IN ENGLAND' Important features that determine earliest covers ,feature  ''SWAN SONG/484 KINGS ROAD, LONDON SW10.....'' (Later press covers are made in Germany and do not feature this Please see photo above)  (normally seen in a terrible state) There is some light general storage ware with age only, in the form of light rubbing and ware at the bottom and top corners. There is only minor rubbing ware at the edges which are not really noticeable unless scrutinized! (Note!I made a small reinforcement to the top right edge corner not noticed unless looked for.) Any slight creases or indent marks you would also have to scrutinize angled to the light to notice mainly on the front in my opinion! This is strong and straight as it should be! I would grade this at least excellent condition!
