Led Zeppelin : Presence A1/B2
This first pressing plays with fantastic audio with no ticks, clicks or pops and no static either. The clarity, depth and power of the audio on both sides is incredible! The quiet 'Tea For One' on S2 has to be the most impressive version I have heard in a very long time.
The gatefold is in great condition with hardly any wear and is rarely seen as clean as this and the picture inner is also in excellent order with very little fading.
This pressing has 'Made In UK' on the labels and Led Zeppelin and Presence are embossed on the front. The Apollo logo is also embossed on the back.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in beautiful condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen. At first glance it looks 'as new' with no marks or scratches and only on very close inspection can you detect a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines. The grooves are so clean as are the run out grooves. The labels have no marking or writing and only 2/3 small spindle traces can be seen on each side.
Play grading
The lead in grooves have no 'background' and then the quiet build up on 'Achilles Last Stand' plays with stunning clarity. As the track 'kicks into gear' the playback is so strong and powerful and the opening verses are 'as new' with no interference. It continues to play with sublime clarity and depth and throughout the entire 10 minutes there is not one tick, click or pop and no underlying static either, even the long fade out has no 'background'. This is a breathtaking start to the album and it easily qualifies as Mint such is the quality.
There are a couple of clicks in the dead wax but the intro on 'For Your Life' plays perfectly as does the rest of the track. The clarity and definition again cannot be faulted and as this is a such vinyl Jones' deep bass is very much in evidence. This is another Mint track with no sign of any interference.
This wasn't the best recorded/produced album in their catalogue and I do think 'Royal Orleans' suffers because of it. The sonic quality is certainly not as strong as it should be and has too much of a 'tinny' sound. I am just being 'complete' in my grading although I guess the 'thinner' vinyl doesn't help. Regardless of that you just work with the tools you're given! Taking all this into account I am still confident in grading it as Mint- as there is no interference from start to finish.

The intro on 'Nobody's Fault But Mine' has no 'background', the clarity is amazing! As Bonham and Jones join in the audio is so strong and deep and it continues to play with superb quality. The momentary 'silent' sections are exactly - totally silent and the mid instrumental is so powerful with no distortion on the top end. Page's solo towards the end is phenomenal and again has no distortion and the remainder of this classic is faultless. Mint is very much deserved.
'Candy Store Rock' is of the same 'high end' standard and plays loud and true with...no interference. Each note is so sharp and precise and this track again grades as Mint
It's difficult not to repeat myself but 'Hots On For Nowhere' is of the same quality with no interference at all. You know the grade...!
The intro on 'Tea For One' plays perfectly and the first extended 'quiet' section also plays with stunning precision. The first vocal also plays with impeccable clarity with not even a single tick let alone anything worse. The more it progresses the more you will be impressed by the sheer quality of the audio here and the first 'high octane' percussive section is absolutely stunning. This truly is an exceptional version and may well be the finest I have ever heard - it is rare for this classic to play with such sublime clarity and definition. Every section plays beautifully and with such depth and warmth also - there really are no negatives and I am happy to grade this as Mint and it provides a suitably stunning finale to the album.
In summary this album plays to standard you so rarely find today and in a sense it's the final track that is the real highlight. So quiet and yet so good! The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio on both sides is superb and as I have stated there are no ticks, clicks or pops and no static either. What an album!
The Gatefold & Picture Inner
This cover is in superb condition and is still very 'clean' considering how predominantly white it is. As is the case with the first pressings it has the band name and title embossed on the front cover and the Apollo logo embossed on the back. The edges have barely any rubbing and the wide spine has no wear apart from minimal fading and a minor 'spot' above the band name. For once all corners are in great condition and the opening edge is pristine also. The front cover is so often marked but this one is near perfect with barely any fading and only one tiny scuff top right. The back cover is also in great shape with very little fading and just a couple of minor 'specks'. The inside of the gatefold is near perfect with just one very small thumbnail type mark near the top edge on the left panel. Overall a stunning example of this cover.
The textured inner inner is in lovely condition and has barely any of the marking/staining so often associated with it. Rarely there are no side splits or tears and only a very minimal amount of 'spotting' down the edges. One of the cleanest you will find in my opinion.
