Led Zeppelin's 1969 debut album is so many things. the debut of the (My opinion) greatest Rock band of all time. The heaviest album released in the 1960s bar none. One of the ever greatest Guitar albums ever made. And Led Zeppelin is probably the third or fourth (Arguably) most influential album in history. That's all some pretty towering stuff. This isn't the birth of Heavy Metal, but it almost is. Some of these cuts are purely incendiary. This isn't Progressive Rock, but some of these cuts put most Progressive Rock epics to shame. This isn't Blues, Blues was never this raunchily heavy. What this is is simply undefineable, and utterly magical. Robert Plant's voice is like a siren, Jimmy Page's guitar makes some of the loudest and (With the bow) weirdest noises in Rock history. And over it all John Bonham is just a bashing buffalo of death. Talk about take no prisoners, this is leave no one alive. Heady stuff.
