The soundtrack to Led Zeppelin’s landmark concert film, The Song Remains The Same captures highlights from the band’s amazing 3-night stand at Madison Square Garden in 1973. Newly remastered, remixed, and expanded with six previously unreleased historic performances--"Black Dog (including "Bring It On Home"), "Over the Hills and Far Away," "Misty Mountain Hop," "Since I've Been Loving You," "The Ocean," "Heartbreaker"--this enhanced version beats every aspect of the 1976 original. The differences are profound: You will hear this as if you've never heard it before.
Much of the improvement is due to the astounding sonics. Half-speed mastered and cut by the legendary Stan Ricker, and supervised by the band, these LPs dramatically better the musical presentation. While the original suffered from a distant perspective and dry tones, this reissue explodes with liveliness and detail. The Song Remains the Same sounds like a completely new record. What a transformation!
The limited-edition Deluxe Archival 180-gram 4-LP box set comes with a full-color booklet with liner notes from producer Cameron Crowe and a faithful replication of the classic cover art.
