Description

Superb Original 1969, the Earliest UK 1st Pressing 'Led Zeppelin' The Debut LP by Led Zeppelin With Massively Rare Earliest 1st press 'Turquoise Lettered Sleeve' and 'Superhype Credit' A1//B1 Matrix Vinyl on Plum/Red Atlantic Labels

I have decided to sell my complete vinyl collection after having downloading a selected few. I see no reason to keep the collection just sitting in the attic when someone else can get some pleasure and we both benefit.

I bought this album on the day it was released in the UK, after having heard the pre-sale version at a local record shop. What must that demo version be worth?

I have taken great care of all my albums and have been known to re-buy an album if it had one nick.

This album is in a superb condition.

You are bidding for one of the most sought-after UK 1st pressings of all time; the mega-scarce 'Led Zeppelin 1' the debut  album from the mighty Led Zeppelin. However what makes this example so rare and sought-after is that it is the true ORIGINAL 1969 Earliest UK 1st Pressing with Turquoise Sleeve Text, A1//B1 Matrix & Plum/Red Labels with Superhype Credit - that's right it is the ultimate UK Turquoise-lettered 1st Pressing of their 1st album (only the very first batch had these features; all later UK pressings had orange sleeve text and 'Warner' credits on the labels). What's more, it is in superb condition throughout. Due to the price that this record will fetch I have described it below in as much detail as possible so you know exactly what you are getting for you money.

A full description is given below and bid with confidence as whoever is lucky enough to win this record will have something very special.  Insurance is a must (buyers account) as I don't want anything to happen to this piece of musical history. This record will be packaged with utmost care, and shipped in a well padded tough cruciform mailing box. You will receive it exactly as you see it now. Check out the full description below. 88171

1st Press Superhype Credits

1st Press Turquoise Sleeve

1st press Plum/Orange Atlantic Record centre labels with earliest "Superhype" credits are in superb Ex++ condition. There are NO Scribbles, NO lifting and NO unwanted writing of any kind, no noticeable spindle lines. The thick & chunky quality pressed vinyl is in a great condition.

Most of 1st pressings in such a good condition are rare, they usually are full of scratches with a dull sheen and totally worn out. This one is NOT.  It still retains a beautiful sheen.  The record also still has ALL its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling, NO nasty greying of the grooves and absolutely NO nasty scratches. There are little to no light hairlines present, which is truly remarkable in view of its age. It plays as good as it looks with NO skips, jumps or nasty pops. It is classic Led Zeppelin, as they were meant to sound, straight from the UK Master Presses.

The cover is the classic laminated MacNeil UK 1st Press Turquoise-lettered sleeve. It is a very good example of this very rare sleeve, and although not mint - it is one of the best examples you will find today - it is nothing like the usual battered scribbled-on offerings that turn up. It is completely blemish free, it has NO unwanted scribbles/writing etc. It perfectly FLAT, with virtually NO RING WEAR. The spine is near mint, the text is as good as the day it was bought with no laminate crease and lift coming out from it. Apart from the bottom edge, which has a very small nick the cover has NO laminate cracking ANYWHERE on the sleeve or spine. There are 2 creases on the front cover which have not lifted the laminate and on the rear there is a faint ghosting image of the record in the top left of the cover and some very minor creases. The top edge shows no damage. This is an extremely good   example of the legendary Turquoise Led Zeppelin 1 sleeve.

The LP comes with its Original and correct Atlantic 'Made in England' & 'British Patent' poly-lined windowed inner sleeve. This is in a fair condition it has 1 small tear at the top (1/4 inch) the 3 edges are all sound and no wear through. And there are a number of creases.

Insurance :  This is not covered and it is your responsibility. I do recommend you insure.  Any cost of insure will be for your account.
