LED ZEPPELIN: LED ZEPPELIN II. This is likely an early 1980's re-print of a 1972 re-issue of the 1969 original! I say this as I was too young in '72, and having bought this in the early 80's, find it unlikely that it was sitting in a Record Shop for a decade! I could be wrong. I didn't fill in "era", as it's more 70's-sounding than 60's, didn't hit No.1 in the UK until Feb '70, and spent the vast majority of its Chart Life in the early 70's.
So, this Classic Album played very well on my Record Player without "sticking", "jumping" or "ticking" but is occasionally "crackly" in quieter moments, so I'd like to Grade it as "VG+" because of that.
I've tried to fill in as many Item Specifics as I could.
The Outer Sleeve: has just a couple of very small "spidery creases", but otherwise in Excellent Condition.
The Inner Sleeve: I had a habit in the 80's of replacing "traditional" ones with those which have a protective "inner cover", and believe I done it with this one. NM.
Have tried to show all the above in Images.
This still may be better than most out there, and also better than one you might be trying to replace.
The original entered the Official UK Chart in early November 1969 reaching Number 1 in February 1970, but stayed in for a remarkable 136 weeks - well on the way to three years! This particular record did not bother the Chart at any time. Have Guinness Hit Singles & Albums Book as reference.
We know they didn't release Singles in the UK, but this has a few classic Zep tracks, with Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker, What Is And What Should Never Be amongst them.
Matrix Numbers are 40037: A4X & B3. Runout also has the words "strawberry" & "r/s alsdorf".
I always use a record cloth before playing, but am sure everyone knows what static does!
Having put all my Records in order early last year (took several weeks!), I've been playing through them for the first time in nearly 30 years - very enjoyable so far - but with space having to be freed up now (this has been in 4 or 5 different houses with me), this is the 182nd of 366 Artist L.P.'s which I started with (am keeping 107 of them so far), with a further 40 Comedy or Compilation L.P.'s.
