Description
This is an Auction for the third Lp by Led Zeppelin released in the Uk in 1970 on Atlantic records Catalogue number Atlantic 2401002. This is a first press with the Peter Grant Credit, A5 and B5 matrix numbers and with "Do what thou wilt " and "So mote it be" written in the runout grooves. It also has the catalogue number on the labels in one long number without seperation. A rare genuine Uk first press.
The Heavy first press Vinyl is visually in Excellent++ condition with a lovely sheen and looks absolutely superb which is reflected in the audio. The record sits nice and flat on the turntable and plays through without any skips or jumps and no audible clicks or ticks on my sytstem. There is some very very light background noise but overall i would grade the Audio as Excellent++ if not better for a 41 year old Lp.
The Red and Plumb labels are in Excellent+ condition with a couple of light spindle marks.
The E.J Day gatefold sleeve is in Very Good++ condition with some light creasing and very minor storage wear to the corners and along the bootom of one gatefold. There is some light colour fading along the top of the gatefold but it still looks great when it is opened. The Spinning wheel is in full working order.
The LP comes with its original patent pending inner but will be sent in a new inner.
OVERALL A SUPERB COPY OF THIS RARE LP.

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
